Step 1
  • Lay a blanket or muslin cloth on a flat surface in a diamond shape and fold the top corner down into a triangle with a flat edge at the top.
  • Place baby at the center of the flat edge with their shoulders below the edge of the fold and their head above.
  • Make sure there’s enough space at the bottom to fold up and cover the length of your little one’s body.
Step 2
  • Hold baby’s right arm along the side of their body, making sure it’s still slightly bent.
  • Then, take the corner of the blanket on the same side and pull it across and over their arm and chest, tucking it under securely on the other side.
Step 3
  • Take the bottom corner of the blanket it and fold it up over baby’s feet and chest, tucking the corner into the top.
  • This should cover baby’s other arm, too, but it should still be moving freely underneath.
Step 4
  • Hold baby’s left arm is in place along the side of their body, and take the remaining corner of the blanket on the same side.
  • Pull the corner over the left arm and chest, and tuck it underneath the opposite side.
  • Your little one should be secured and comfortable in the swaddle.
