HOW TO WIND & CLEAN WATCHES
When you invest in an amazing watch, it only makes sense to take care of it. Read on for maintenance tips for your timepiece.

how to wind your watch
Looking for tips on ways to wind your watch? For detailed instructions, please refer to your watch’s instruction manual. You can also take a look at general guidelines to get your watch up and running.
- To Wind: Remove the watch from your wrist and pull out the crown. Which function you’re setting (time, date, etc) is determined by how far you pull out the crown—listen for the little clicks. To wind, rotate the crown clockwise until you feel resistance. Return crown to it’s normal place.
- Manual: Must be wound each day.
- Automatic: Powered by a rotor, the energy can last for a long time, but it must be worn regularly.

tips on servicing your watch
- Typically, watches should be professionally cleaned and serviced every 2 years.
- Read the manufacturer’s instructions for tips and guidelines on how to use and maintain your timepiece.
- Store your watch away from perfumes, powders or other chemicals that may damage it.
- Keep your watch away from extreme temperatures (hot or cold), unusual shocks or magnetic fields.

keep the watch dry
A non-water-resistant watch should steer clear of water. If it does get wet, then dry it as soon as possible. If you’re around water, remove the watch beforehand to avoid potential accidents. Waterproof watches should still be wiped clean. Most water-resistant watches are protected if exposed to small amounts of water. Be aware that even if a watch is water resistant, the resistance may not last forever.
