Be a spring cleaner.
From mattress pad to topper, take it all off and use your vacuum to thoroughly clean the surface of your mattress. It's an effective way to freshen a mattress.
Wash and repeat.
A simple tip on how to sanitize a mattress? Go with machine-washable mattress toppers and pads, which can be easily cleaned in the washer. Regularly changing and cleaning your sheets and bedding will help to cut down on dust mites and allergens building up in your mattress.
Time is on your side.
Give your body between 1 week and 1 month to adjust to your new mattress and to truly notice the new level of luxury and support.
Find a support system.
Make sure your bed has a stable and supportive foundation by buying the appropriate base that your mattress calls for. For traditional mattresses, always get the matching box spring. For memory foam mattresses, add a metal bed frame with slats. For added comfort and luxury for a traditional or memory foam mattress, choose an adjustable base. Queen, king & California king beds require a frame with center support.
Go on rotation.
We all have preferred sleep positions. At the start of every season, give your mattress a refresh by rotating it. This can give that spot you love sleeping on a rest, and also helps to reduce everyday wear and tear.
Make smart moves.
If you need to move your mattress to another location, this might be a good time to grab some of your stronger friends. Carry the mattress carefully on its side, and never bend or apply too much force to your mattress.
No monkeying around.
Avoid jumping or standing on your mattress. Putting all of your weight on one spot can damage the inner construction of the mattress and is not good for its longevity. Not to mention you can get hurt!
Stay dry.
Waterproof toppers and mattress pads are key to keeping your bed dry and helping to protect the materials inside your mattress. You can find ones with padded surfaces for extra comfort.
In with the new.
Common questions often asked are, how often do mattresses last and how often should you replace your mattress. All mattresses eventually start showing wear and tear, usually in 8 to 10 years. How can you tell? You might start waking up with backaches or you may start noticing that it's just not as comfortable as it used to be. Time to shop for a new mattress!

Free Set-up On All Mattress Deliveries
You found the perfect mattress, and now you need help setting it up—we can do that for you! When we deliver your mattress, we will set it right up in your bedroom. Just add the bedding and hit the sheets.
Mattress Return Policy
Give your body time to adjust to new your mattress set. If you are not satisfied, contact Macy's Customer Service within 60 days to schedule a one-time reselection or return. The reselection must be scheduled within 14 days. Bedding must be undamaged, unsoiled and free of stains. Please note that your delivery fee will not be refunded. An $85 pickup fee will be charged and a 15% preference return fee will apply.

60-Day Comfort Trial
Rest easy with our 60-day comfort trial. Here's how it works: try your new mattress, see how it feels, and if you are not satisfied with it after 60 days, contact Macy's within the next 7 days to receive a one-time credit (minus fees) toward a new mattress of equal or greater value.
