I have heard of great reviews about this parfum and was, at first, hesitant. But this small amount offered (on sale) through Macy's convinced me I wanted to try it before purchasing a larger amount. Looks as though I WILL purchase a larger amount because this parfum is over the top.....I LOVE it!

While I recognize and respect the loyal following this perfume—and the broader Black Opium line—has cultivated, I must admit that based on my own experience and preferences, I find it to be somewhat overrated. My recent purchase was driven primarily by curiosity, as I took advantage of an appealing promotion at Macy’s (50% off). Upon opening the bottle and experiencing the scent for the first time, I was immediately reminded of Classique by Jean Paul Gaultier—a similarity that was quite unexpected. Of course, fragrance is an inherently personal experience, and individual perceptions may vary greatly. My intention is not to diminish the value this scent holds for others, but rather to offer an honest reflection grounded in my own olfactory journey. I remain appreciative of the craftsmanship behind YSL’s creations and understand why many continue to be captivated by Black Opium and its various interpretations.
