Defective? Already falling apart

I’ve washed these pants about two times now after receiving them. The stitching is already falling out at the waistline so the elastic is showing. I ordered these pants because I have ordered them before and they hold up nice. I’m wondering if the stitching wasn’t done right and they’re defective.
