Really great tomato strainer
I did a lot of research before choosing the Hamilton Beach Weston tomato strainer. I considered many different brands and models, from the lower to high end, manual & electric. I watched a lot of videos too. What I really like about this one is that the skin and seeds come out pretty dry, which indicates that the press is extracting almost every drop of juice and pulp. I saw videos of expensive strainers that didn't do this and users needed to run their skin/seeds through the press a second or third time. This press is so easy to use and fast! I've now made salsa a few times and lots of sauce from our garden harvest. We've even sauced our yellow and chocolate cherries which were very abundant this year! I just wash the fresh tomatoes and cut into wedges which feeds into the machine easier. I then add salt and cook down for 1.5 - 2 hours. Once my sauce cools, I freeze it in zip lock bags which makes the entire process so easy. Love this machine!
