Inspirational, fun, shorts.
Inspirational, fun, shorts. This book is full of short poems, stories and quotes. Bet reminiscent of the chicken soup for the soul books. I love these. Well written and easy to read.

A book we all so desperately need
Peppernell gently rips open the wounds we have allowed to fester, and reveals the demons that have manifested inside. And in that vulnerable state, she shows you, with intentionality that drips from each page, how to fall in love with life once again.

Beautiful collection focusing on the self
Watering the Soul by Courtney Peppernell is a beautiful collection of poetry and prose and focuses on the self. Self healing, self love, forgiveness, letting go, letting new people in, moving on, everything and anything that one needs to take into consideration to grow and heal and become more. Taking chances and holding onto the things that make you, you. I’ve read just about everything Courtney Peppernell and while not all her collections work for me this is definitely at the top of my favorites of her works. Her collections as I’ve mentioned in the past feel like a friend sitting near me, holding my hand when necessary, whispering the words I need to help me move on or let go, passing me a hot cup of tea when I need to sit and stew over the simplicity but touching beauty of her words, and this whole collection feels a lot like that again. *** Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I was able to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent Prose and Poetry
Looking back on my various reviews, you can tell that I enjoy reading and listening to poetry. And this one is definitely up there. There is a good mixture of poetry and prose in this book, which surprised me because I almost forgot about the prose part of it. One thing that I liked in the book is the artwork that denoted the different sections of the book which I can only imagine how cool they will look in the physical copy of the book. An extended version of the review is available on my blog. I received this book free from NetGalley and the publishers free to review. This is my unbiased review.

Pleasant and Comforting
Courtney Peppernell's Watering the Soul is one of those collections that feels like a cozy blanket and a cup of tea on a rainy day: comforting, familiar, soothing, and generally pleasant. I really love her metaphorical poems, personally, I think they are her greatest strength. This collection is definitely lighter on those, but her literal poems whether they're offering advice or simply self-reflective are still captivating. The illustration is lovely as always. I think it's a rather timely collection, the theme of self care and growth certainly something many can relate to. I think more than anything, Watering the Soul has made me want to go back and re-read Pillow Thoughts again, which may be a testament to the way Peppernell's poems put one in the mind to reflect on a journey. Fans will be pleased, and new readers will have an excellent introduction to her work.
