Answer to a Need!

it makes yogurt - I am thrilled! However, I would suggest that the clay pot should be easier to remove from the cooker.

I recommend for its ease of use.

My Yia-Yia taught me how to make a nice, thick (but not too thick), sour yogurt when I was a kid and have continued the tradition. I like the ease of this, the consistency and taste of the yogurt it produces, the clay pot container, and not having to do the keep warm in the oven wrapped in towels thing. It definitely holds a full half gallon of milk and use it every week being a no less than one cup a day consumer.

Vita Clay yogurt maker, slow cooker.

I have only used this as a yogurt maker so far and it is excellent! It has come out perfect every time! I appreciate that you can lift the clay pot out of the heater and put it right in the fridge. It is not too hot because the yogurt setting is just warm. This has been perfect for my needs and if you want a great yogurt maker, this is the one! Thank you, Macy's, for carrying it!

too hot!

I bought this to make my Greek yogurt. It runs upwards of 120 degrees F which is why my yogurt keeps curdling. I can turn it off and on periodically to regulate the temp but what’s the point of this appliance if you have to trouble yourself during the whole process?! Just good for slow cooking but not yogurt.

Yogurt maker

Very nice, works as expected. Don’t need to use my big conventional oven now for warm temperature for yogurt making process. Also , yes yogurt does come very cream and not tart if you do 8 hours incubation and 8 hours setting in refrigerator after it’s done.

Inner pot is made of mud which makes it very unique and traditional. Yogurt maker is really amazing. Love it!

Fabulous Tasting Yogurt

I used 2% milk and cooked it for 10 hours. The Yogurt tastes great. With a little sugar, it tastes more like cream than yogurt. It's thick and very creamy. Fresh lemon juice, yogurt, & sugar tastes wonderful, especially when. added to lemon cake. My favorite is blended strawberries, yogurt, and a little sugar. It's heaven. Homemade yogurt makes such a delicious dessert, I've never tried any of the 100's of yogurt recipes. Vitaclay is the best yogurt maker, it's affordable, and everyone should buy one. It makes a terrific gift.
