Not breathable, poor design

I wanted to like this jacket, but I can't. The jacket has issues with breathability - not letting moisture and excess heat out - and poor design - the below the waist portion is too tight, so sitting or raising your legs is an issue, and the venting zips are badly placed. Like other UA infrared products, if you're moving around at all generating body heat, that will be kept in and you'll end up sweating. In below freezing weather, even wearing light layers under the jacket, I found my arms covered in sweat. It seems that the insulation in the arms is too heavy and there's no where for that heat to go as the cuffs, which are nice, trap the heat. My core also gets sweaty - I have to unzip the jacket, even in freezing weather when I'm walking. The venting zips at the side barely open because of their placement. There's a reason every other company places them under the arm pits - that's where they will work best. The jacket doesn't come out at all below the waist - as a result, you can't sit down easily or raise your legs. I did try on multiple sizes - the size larger was massive and could've fit two of me. This is the right size, but this area was messed up. It would've been fixed with a two way zipper, but isn't there. I haven't used it much in wet conditions, but the few times I have, it kept me dry. My only concern is the material seems to get saturated fairly quickly. That's an indication that with sustained rain, the waterproofing will fail.

Good Jacket

It runs large so I ordered a size smaller and it fits perfect. I like how it forms to your body, it is not baggy and hanging everywhere. It keeps me dry and warm which is very important. It’s not a bomber style which I usually purchase but I really like how it feels. The hood works great, it’s big enough to keep you protected and fits snug enough to keep you warm. It is weatherproof, tested and works good. Overall a really good coat for Canada weather.

Great Light weight jacket

This Jacket runs long in the sleeves, I wear a lot of Under Armor stuff and usually wear a Large or XL I am 5'9 and 180 lbs. I had to go to the medium for the fit that i felt was right. It is to early in the season to comment on the performance.

Love this jacket

I live in Utah and go skiing fairly regularly. This is a great ski jacket. It's very warm but has vents to open up. I've used it for night skiing, overcast days and on bluebird days. No problems whatsoever getting too cold. I'm about 6', 240 lbs so I got a xxl. Probably too big but I like things loose and want to be able to put layers underneath. I generally ski with an insulated jacket and a 3/4 zip golf sweatshirt over a technical t-shirt. Never cold. I'll not that Utah's cold is different than East Coast or midwest cold.

Love this jacket! But too long

Love the qaulity of this jacket! Super light, very warm, and comfy. But I found the length of the jacket passed my hips. And the sleeves covered my finger tips.

NICE!

I was in need of a light weight yet still warm jacket. I’m in training for my commercial truck drivers license and it can get bitterly cold on the driving range. I needed something that would keep me warm but not bulky like I winter coat. The cold gear infrared jacket is perfect! It’s not constricting, it’s water proof and I can wear a thermal shirt or a hoodie and I’m perfectly warm during my time outdoors. It’s a timeless style and something I’ll probably wear for years to come. This being my first Under Armour perchase I’m very happy with it!

A little big, but great jacket

If you want a very warm winter jacket without having to buy a 3 in 1 coat, then this is it! My husband is a smaller build, 5'6" and about 150lbs. He's normally a M in UA but when he tried on both a M and S, the small fit way better so I think it runs a little big. I had a tough time finding out what people meant by "cold weather" when reading reviews, so I hope this helps others - He's been wearing it in our frigid MN temps, even below zero at times, and he's been warm enough. He often just wears a light sweater underneath it. If he needed to be standing outside in 20F or below weather for several hours, he'd wear some UA cold gear or his UA 3.0 gear underneath him for extra warmth, but overall it's perfect for very cold weather (even below 0) by itself.

Not as expected

Had to return. Sleeves were very long, and coat not as substantial as expected;
