I didn’t really like this book. It started off really good and then it took you in a different direction. The ending was weird and didn’t really make a lot of sense. I was disappointed overall. The cover of the book looks really good and makes you think it will be a great story. Sadly, you cannot always judge a book by the cover. I typically choose books based on the cover if I wasn’t suggested it by someone else.it had the potential to be a great book but somewhere along the way it went off the rails. The ending was confusing and much less suspenseful and enjoyable than I would have liked. I would be very hesitant to read another book by this author. It wasn’t the worst book I’ve read so I might try another book by the author but I would definitely think twice. Someone else might really enjoy reading this book, it just wasn’t my cup of tea or coffee.

This author duo is so dang good. I really enjoyed this one and felt fully invested for the entire story. I am always shocked by these stories and look forward to more from them!

Well-written and full of surprises
This was a well-written and enjoyable psychological/domestic thriller. The authors write as a team, but the narrative and dialogue flow effortlessly. The short chapters keep the momentum of the story moving forward. Vanessa is completely obsessed with the young woman her ex-husband is planning to marry. However, the situation unfolds with surprises and revelations for the reader that alter the experience of the second half of the book and keep the reader wondering how the story will resolve itself. The characters are well-done, and the feelings of obsession, anxiety and menace come through at the right times. The authors hold the reader's interest through the epilogue, and the ending is satisfying and a bit disturbing. A fan of this genre will find much to enjoy here.

Mediocre Read
Actual Rating 1.5 Vanessa is no longer married to Richard and she’s struggling to make ends meet. Trying to keep her job and living with her elderly aunt, she still can’t stop thinking about Richard. Nellie is Richard’s new, young fiancée who can’t believe that someone like Richard would be into someone like her. But he is, and it won’t be long before they’re happily married. But Vanessa is determined to keep Richard from marrying ever again – to what lengths will she go to keep him single? This book certainly wasn’t a thriller or really a suspense – it was more of a slow burn mystery with a few slightly suspenseful parts. And even then, the mystery wasn’t compelling. It was a mystery to the reader only because the narrators were holding back information until the timing was right to reveal it. I understand why the authors chose to do this, but it’s not something I tend to enjoy. It’s told from the first person POV of Vanessa and the third person POV of Nellie. I liked how it was set up for the most part. I mostly enjoyed the first half of the book although it was quite slow – it did a good job at situating the characters and their situation. But I disliked the “giant surprising twist.” And then I kept waiting for something suspenseful or tense to happen, and kept waiting, and waited some more. Things certainly got more ridiculous and over the top, but that wasn’t what I was looking for. I didn’t really care for this book, because it followed such a worn-out trope (can’t include it because of spoilers, but it’s quite basic and doesn’t make for compelling reads). If this book had had even a little interesting characterization or some palpable tension, it would have been more enjoyable. But my opinion is the minority on this one, so if it sounds interesting, check out some other reviews.

Better than I expected; tense domestic thriler
This book's blurb was very intriguing because it didn't really describe the book, but gave just enough information to get a sense of what it was about without spoiling anything. While I was definitely confused about who was narrating each chapter, there is a reason for this and it really worked for me. I don't mind books where I'm constantly flipping back to other sections or pages looking for clues I might have missed (mainly because I do it with every book, so I don't consider that a negative). I loved the main reveal, and while this book isn't your typical thriller (it's more of a domestic suspense), it was tense enough to keep me interested. This book reminded me a bit of The Last Mrs. Parrish, which was a nice surprise because I loved that one. It's definitely different enough to stand alone, of course. I'll probably be reading this one again in the near future (I read it sometime last year), kind of like re-watching a movie to see what other clues and things you can spot on a 2nd watch.

Very slow and not a thriller
I should have put the book down after 150 pages with really nothing happening. It was very blah.

Ok Book
This book was ok. It was difficult to differentiate between which characters were talking because it wasn't always identified. This is definitely NOT a psychological thriller, more like fiction. I did love the ending because I did not see that coming.

Twisted Relationships
Review of The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ “In my marriage, there were three truths, three alternate and sometimes competing realities. There was Richard’s truth. There was my truth. And there was the actual truth, which is always the most elusive to recognize.” Nellie and Vanessa are two very different women yet connected by the same man - Richard. Vanessa can hardly keep herself together following the end of her marriage. She moves in with her aunt, can barely maintain her job, and lives in an alcoholic haze most days - yet shockingly the one thing that seemingly shifts her into a state of clarity is hearing that Richard is remarrying. Now Vanessa’s sole drive is to stop the marriage from happening. Only problem is - will anyone believe her or will they just think she’s a jealous and spiteful ex-wife? The Wife Between Us is not at all what you think it is or will be. Just when you think you know where the storyline is going - BAM! - Part 2 starts. Between the jealousy, rage, gaslighting and manipulation, this book is every bit a twisted psychological thriller. Trying to piece together the puzzle wasn’t easy because as with all thrillers, a piece would be taken out and replaced with another. While the book was a relatively slow burn, the short chapters made for a quick paced read. I don’t know how they do it but the writing is seamless and you’d never know two authors wrote this book. I will say though, the twist that started Part 2 was so distracting - I spent more time trying to make sense of Part 1 that it took away from the story. And although nearly all of the loose ends were tied up by the end of the book, I still had questions! Some theories for sure made sense but some parts didn’t have a clear explanation and I need that closure. That said - this book will have your head spinning at most parts and others you’ll be filled with rage.
