You'll Cry and you'll laugh
Someone described this book in a review I read as steel magnolias meets vampires and I couldn't put in better than that. I laughed so hard till my belly hurt and then cried at some scenes. If you love grady hendrix you must read this one.

Nasty, funny, nostalgic...
4.75⭐ Nasty, funny, nostalgic, and touching on consequential societal views/attitudes of the time, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires is an enjoyable ride from start to finish. The dynamics within the group of ladies of the book club was fun to explore. They're Southern housewives, with homes to tend to, husbands to please, and children to raise. But do not mistake their domesticity for weakness, these women have some lethal tendencies and very sharp minds. They read plenty of dark stories and true crime, after all. I had so much fun listening to this audiobook. The narrator was excellent, and her storytelling along with the vibe of the story was a great match.

Not your average book club
Patricia is living a normal life in a quiet neighborhood as a wife and mother of two. She is also part of a book club. Till a new neighbor moved in, that is, as soon as he came into town strange occurrences started happening. Patricia was attacked, Children went missing and she witnessed something that no one believes and now everyone thinks she is crazy or is she? Grady Hendrix did it again. This book was well paced and very interesting/ I really hated Patricia's husband more than I did James Harris though. Highly recommend this book. It is not your usual vampire story.

Great read
On the surface Grady Hendrix writes horror with a side of humor. This book like the others is layered with the dynamics of relationships including female friendships.

It Was Good Until It Was Really Bad
I was very excited to get my hands on this book. I had read raving reviews about it...but it was beyond disappointing. The majority of the book was good. I'd be up for hours not being able to put the book down. But after the van in the woods part it started to go down hill. And then came to disastrous end. It felt as though the ending was written by a middle schooler who waited til the very last minute to write the ending. And I am not talking about staying up the night before to finish. I am talking, writing on the bus on the way to school, or perhaps trying to sneak a sentence in or two while sitting in math class the period before Creative Writing. The ending actually left such a bad taste that I had to stop reading for a bit. After this I had trust issues. Be warned.

MINDBLOWING!
This book had me HOOKED. This is an intense story about friendship, relationships, motherhood, the supernatural, and violence. It’s a roller coaster told over nearly a decade that will keep you on the edge of your seat and jumping at every noise. Grady Hendrix has a wonderfully descriptive way of writing that makes you feel everything her characters feel and it makes the story that much better. Fantastic read for anyone who likes horror and mysteries!

I kind of wanna join the book club
I loved this book! It was the slowest quick read, lemme elaborate: the story progressed slowly, but there was just the right amount of events that happened leading up to the end that it kept you reading and hooked you into the story. I only gave it 4 stars because it gave me some anxiety, not going to lie about that. Some of the choices that the main character makes made me big nervous and had me sitting here shaking my head, but whataya do? If 4.5 stars was something I could give, that’s what I’d give. Overall, excellent story and I’ve been recommending it to everyone who’s asked.

Delightful Read
This book is “ laugh out loud” funny in some parts and terribly gross in others. Vivid description of the vampire’s adventures. Excellent depth of characters. Totally entertaining!
