Beautiful Edition, Interesting Story

My first introduction to The Phantom Of The Opera was actually the movie when I was a kid. Then I watched the anniversary special of the stage performance, saw the traveling version, and was lucky enough to see in on Broadway. And then! I read the movie. It's really interesting to compare all three - the movie the farthest from the source material, mostly taking from the play, but then the play have some remnants of the novel - like the Phantom's use of "magic" and science. This version gives so much more substance to the Phantom, I really loved it.

Lovely Classics Edition!

This book is one of the most beautiful books I own! The images on the listing don’t do enough justice to the beautiful metallic paint and do not show the stunning 3D effects made by the cover arts. Both the front and back and even the spine look amazing! Inside the formatting is also very nice and the book has a nice header art/border at the beginning of every new story. The stories inside are a very good collection, there is a mix of authors, some well known and others lesser known. I also enjoyed the introduction that explains the themes and a light history of Gothic Literature. It is only two pages however it gives a good explanation that isn’t too long nor too short. The only cons of this book are some grammatical and formatting of some of the sentences. There are certain times that there are no spaces between words or some spelling errors. However the lack of spaces doesn’t hinder me much when I read since I am a very quick reader I do not notice until after I have already read it. The spelling errors however do somewhat bother me, luckily these are rather sparse. In conclusion I do think this book is a very great value. For $25 you will get a full novel and 19 other stories (some of which are the length of a small novel), as well as a lovely outside cover. Looks great on any shelf and has hours of reading content. I definitely recommend this stunning book!
