I use it for skiing and it works fine.it keeps you warm in cold weather but you can also take the inside jacket off if you get to warm.

Great Jacket
Let me just lead off, this is a great jacket. Gortex and 3L make it super functional, and built very well, really feels like a quality jacket. I liked this jacket a lot, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. It is very sporty, insofar as it looks and feels like a ski/snowboard jacket. I was looking for something that had this level of functionality, durability and quality that would keep me warm but also wouldn't scream snow sports if I wore it out for dinner. I ultimately returned it and purchased an Outer Boroughs Triclimate (which is awesome btw), but that shouldn't suggest that this jacket isn't awesome. Because it rocks.

Poor Liner Design
I received a size large Brandy Brown Triclimate Jacket as a gift from my children. Great jacket but the zip out interior liner would enhance the jacket if it was designed with a reverse configuration, meaning, inside out. In the current configuration there are no interior pockets as they are now faced inward on the liner. Additionally, what is now the interior neck collar becomes the exterior when the liner is worn as the outer shell. Because it was an interior collar with the outer shell and now an exterior collar, there will be evidence of a little more wear and soiled areas due to body oil, hair products etc. at the neckline, which is now the visible exterior collar. The suggested configuration also allows one to zip the liner independently of the outer shell to be used as a vest w/ the outer shell. The long-term appearance and versatility could be improved if the liner was reversed in design. The jacket also is a little tight fitting for an outer garment when zipped and my waist size 34 - 35 inches.
