This book is an amazing read. I had my long break from work and since I work nights, on my days off I am up any time around 4:00 and 5:30 am. I decided to make a dent in my “To read” list at home. This book has been on my shelf for a while and every time I see it I think “I will get around to it”. Let me say I am so happy I did. With each chapter I was becoming more and more engulfed in the book. Getting closer to the climax and boy it did not disappoint. I finished this 51 chapter book in 2 days. I left to go shopping and could not wait to go home and pick it up again. Beautifully written and I have never had a book like that so it was something different. It has everything! War, love, friendship, heartbreak. I am a sucker for a strong female lead and this has 2

Well-written
This was really good! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of this book around the time that it was being published. Then I didn’t get around to reading it. It happens. I have thought about picking it up several times over the years and usually ended up grabbing something shorter. I shouldn’t have let the length of this book deter me because it was really such an engrossing story that it didn’t feel long at all. I am so glad that I finally took the time to experience this book! The characters in this book were fantastic! This story is told from three points of view and I really liked each of them equally which is a rare thing. Nina was quite the character. She was fierce, bold, and determined. We get to see her in the past working as a pilot in the Russian army during WWII. We also see her in the 1950s but those scenes are usually told from her husband, Ian’s point of view. Ian worked as a journalist but is now focused on bringing war criminals to justice. The third point of view comes from Jordan. Jordan lives in Boston with her father and eventually her stepmother and sister. She is smart and never gives up. I loved seeing their stories come together over the course of this book. This was a pretty exciting story. Learning the things that Nina and others went through during the war was eye-opening. It was interesting to see how far Ian and his team would go to bring their target to justice. Jordan only knew life after the war and I loved how ambitious she was. There were some things that I did figure out in the story but there were also plenty of surprises along the way. This was a really captivating story that had me glued to the pages. Saskia Maarleveld did an amazing job with the narration of this book. I loved the way that she was able to create different voices and use various accents for the key characters. I really felt like she brought the story to life and added a lot of emotion and excitement t the story. I believe that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story. I would definitely recommend this book to others. I found this to be an incredibly well-written and thoroughly researched story filled with characters that were easy to fall for. I definitely plan to read more of this author’s work in the future. I received a digital review copy of this book from William Morrow via Edelweiss and borrowed a copy of the audiobook from my local library.

Needed a Better Editor
Way too long. Fascinating story gets bogged down with trivial dialogue. 550 pages could be cut to 350.

Another great book from Kate Quinn!
Wow. Kate Quinn has done it again. I blazed through this book in 24 hours, because I simply could not put it down. Nina has to be one of the most incredible characters I’ve read in a very long time, but the thing is, so is the villain in this book. Usually, there’s a specific character who really sticks with you when reading and the other characters remain secondary in the story and in your mind afterwards. Not the case in The Huntress. All I can say is, “D@%n” Like, I literally cannot put into words how Ms Quinn hides this women in plain site so to speak even though I knew all along who and what she was. It’s crazy to me. I knew where it was headed, but how we got there was just exquisite. Ooof. I’m still reeling. And Nina, you crazy Night Witch. You are beautiful. From Siberia to Fenway Park, I never knew what she would do, but I absolutely loved her ending. It wasn’t some sappy, sweet break from character, but rather a culmination of lost love and fear and a touch of sarcastic humor coming full circle that just worked! I highly recommend this book!

Well Written
Kate Quinn’s novel is emotionally charged, thought provoking, and well-written. Each of the three stories is strong enough to stand alone and keep the readers attention, but the interconnection between them is what makes the novel unforgettable.

A Crackerjack of a Cliffhanger
Wow! A very cleverly composed crackerjack of a story about post-war criminal hunters and one unsuspecting family in Boston that invites into their midst a heartlessly cold murderess. Oh, she may be a Black Widow Spider still capable of stinging, but her nemesis on the hunt is her match and she knows it. The story is like a 1,000 piece picture puzzle with pieces coming from different points of view and different timelines, some during WWII and some in the 1950s. All in good time, the pieces come together with deep characterization, thorough history, and genuine suspense to form an entertaining and gratifying picture for the reader. Brava!
