Best Book Series of All Time
Reading has never been my favorite hobby, and there have been stretches of time where I have not read for days or even weeks in a row, but all of that changed when I opened the cover of The Hunger Games. I like to read at night, but this soon became a problem. I would tell myself that I will read only one chapter and then go to bed. Suzanne Collins wrote this book so well though, that this task was virtually impossible. Readers are absolutely hooked. Every chapter ends on an intense cliffhanger that convinces one to continue reading. I finished all three books of the trilogy within two weeks, having read more than two hours on numerous days. Another reason why Suzanne Collins wrote this book so incredibly well is the attachments that the reader builds with the characters. Collins easily made me hate the antagonists and love the protagonists. Towards the end of the third book of the series, I started tearing up as Katniss cried with Lady, her sister Prim's goat, over Prim's death. The emotions that Collins can make the reader feel with her writing are remarkable. I predict that every reader has at least one strong, personal connection lying in the book. On top of that, the storyline and creativity of the book is top tier. One never knows what will happen next. This book gave me goosebumps due to its excitement and suspense. The unpredictability of the "games" and events that happened in these games were beyond amazing. Part of what made this so was the imagery in the book. I could picture exactly what was happening, and I can prove this because I was not surprised in the slightest by the visuals in the movies I watched after reading the books. In addition, this is one of few book series in which the books actually get better as the series progresses. What makes this even more impressive is how good the first book was, making it a real challenge to improve it, yet Collins still managed to. In fact, I really wished there was a sequel, for there are still some unanswered questions that leave me wondering about the book even weeks after reading it. Many of my friends and family members have read The Hunger Games, and they all completely agree that the series is astounding. I have not met a soul that dislikes this series, and if I do meet someone who dislikes any aspect of it other than there not being more books, I would be genuinely surprised. Ultimately, this is without a doubt my favorite book series, and the three books in it are first, second, and third in my favorite books of all time, so I am unequivocally giving The Hunger Games a five star rating.

Barnes and Noble Review of The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is a good read for all ages. Already in the beginning, the story sets up the point that lotteries are not always beneficial. Reminiscent of Shirley Jackson's The Lottery, the participants in the Hunger Games are randomly selected from each district to get killed on television. Only one winner is allowed to go home, reducing the odds of survival for the others to near zero. In our modern world, the lottery is often boiled down to earning money and getting lucky. However, The Hunger Games contrasts this by showing how getting picked by a lottery could be unlucky and negative. Additionally, The Hunger Games pushes the message that the television doesn't always reflect reality. In the story, the main character, Katniss, is forced to compete to the death against other people. This is all televised and designed to make her seem bold and brave for the rest of the country to see. Really, she is heart-broken to have to leave her sister which she adores. This message really resonates as in the modern world, this kind of scenario is all around us. News anchors and influencers act jolly and joyful around the camera, but in the real world, they may be sad or nasty. This side of them is just never exposed to the public because these people are typically only seen on the screen and nowhere else. In The Hunger Games, the reader is given the perspective of the television personality, so the effects of constant surveillance can be observed. I enjoyed this title. It has all the literary elements to cater to most audiences. For those who like action, there are a lot of fights here, and for those who like romance, there's also some love relationships. For those who like dystopian novels, the society in which this all takes place is a dystopia. Even with all these different genres mashed into one story, the book doesn't get confusing or disorganized. I personally don't like the romance genre. Nevertheless, I am still able to appreciate this book because romance is just one cog in this clock. It is important to the story but not overwhelming. As good as this book is, there are some unsavory things that I must note. Primarily, the character development starts rather late in the story. Most of this happens during the actual Hunger Games, which only starts on page 147. There's mainly just a lot of exposition before this point. To be fair, it allows the reader to settle into the story's universe, but I think it is a bit of a slow burn. Other than this, I would say that this book is a superb read.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I would 100% recommend this book, it touches on very important topics like oppression, and the effect of war on others. To put it simply, this book is about young people from different ‘districts’ that are put against each other to fight on tv. Everything about this book i just loved. It definitely had me on the edge of my seat.

Great and Amazing Book!
The Hungers Games book by Suzanne Collins was both thrilling and exciting. One word I would describe the subject of this book would be survival. The book type is Dystopian Fiction. The Hunger Games book is where the nation of the Panem is divided into twelve districts. These nations are controlled by a very powerful capital. Every year the capitol chooses two people from each district to play the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a televised game where tributes from each district fight and survive against each other until the last one standing. This book is about a young girl from district 12 named Katniss Everdeen. When her sister got picked, Katniss volunteered as a tribute. Districts 12’s male tribute was Peter Mellark. When Katniss was in the arena she had to go through the tough challenges and survive her way to win. However, she also had the growing love sensation with Peter. Her last action in the arena before winning was the first spark of rebellion against the regime. At the end, both Peter and Katniss won the Hunger Games which was surprising because there was always one winner. My personal reaction to the book was that I felt very entertained. Overall, this book was very good because it included romance, thrillers, plot twists and more! Throughout the book I never got bored and was very interested. Most of all I loved the words that got described in the story. In my opinion the story’s outline was very enjoyable and amazing. I drew images in my head of the story because of the well described scenes. You have to read The Hunger Games! It’s a fast-paced, action-packed story about survival, rebellion, and fighting against a corrupt government. Katniss is a strong, relatable heroine who’s thrown into a deadly competition, and the suspense will keep you hooked. Plus, the book dives way deeper into the characters and world than the movie. Trust me, once you start, you won’t be able to put it down!
