I've been looking at this sofa for at least 3-4 years- yes- I research stuff to death- and the only store that had it in stock was in Chicago. Crazy that no stores stock it in NE, right? Don't you want to sit on a couch that you're thinking about purchasing? After checking out the Chicago Macy's while both my husband and I were at a conference 2 years in a row, we said this was the sofa for us. We ordered it the 3rd week in Sept. and it was delivered Nov. 9th. Turnaround time from order to delivery was about 6 weeks. The color Slate is beautiful- a cross between navy and charcoal. The fabric is so soft, yet durable. Though it's not as soft as the floor model, we know it's just a matter of "breaking it in" time for our family re: sitting, reclining, and daily living. Great support, and lots of room for both my husband and myself to recline together side-by-side on the couch- we didn't even have to remove the back pillows, that's how roomy it is!!! This is a fantastic sofa- it blends with our family room furnishings so well- we have lots of windows and wood in our Yankee barn- cherry, oak, maple, acacia, and some pine. So happy with our purchase and we absolutely loved working with Christopher at Macy's North Shore store. We also purchased the Navy Kaleb Leather chair too- I'll review that piece on its page too :) Both pieces look great and are exactly the additions we wanted/needed in our home! Thank-you Macy's!!!!
STUNNING!!!
Soft, sturdy, durable....AMAZING!!! I'm 6'3" and weigh approx 350lbs. This set is supportive and comfy. The fabric is so luxurious. You'll love curling up on this sofa to watch hours of tv. Its deep so when you have that special someone to snuggle up with, there's plenty of room. And not to mention...take the pillows off and throw a sheet on it and its the perfect spot for your couch surfing friend that drank too much wine during game night. I absolutely and HIGHLY recommend this set. I got the sofa, love seat, chair and 2 storage ottomans. It all fit perfectly in my 14' x 16' living room. This is the set that is outside the "norm" of white fabric or leather sofa sets. If you want a real show stopper when you have company...look no further. Trust me, you will LOVER this set too!!
Good looking and comfortable, but...
We've had 2 of these couches now, in the color of otter. The couch is very comfy and looks fantastic, no doubt. However, the first one developed a tear in the fabric at the top seem on the front face of the seat cushion. Since we were in the 11 month of a 12-month warranty, Macy's sent out an inspector then generously replaced the entire couch. Yes, that's right. For a 1-inch rip in the fabric they replaced the entire couch. Pretty cool. We are now in month 14 of the replacement couch and just today I noticed a 2-inch tear in the seam near the rear of seat cushion. The couch is not excessively used nor has it been mistreated, the people who sit on this couch are adults of average height and weight. Additionally, when the first couch came one of the throw pillows had a, you guessed it, tear in the one of the seams. Macy's also promptly shipped out a new pillow. For a couch of this price, this is far, far beyond completely unacceptable. My advice? Steer wide and clear of this one.

I purchased this sofa because it is a Jonathan Louis design. I had a Jonathan Louis sofa before that lasted a long time. The cushions are a great quality and removable rather than sewn on to the sofa frame. The thicker fabric and color works great for households with kids. Macys offers great customer service and I have faith in their protection plan. My one major issue though is the sofa dimension is not 44 inches in depth but actually only 40 inches. I selected this sofa for its larger size. I have tall family members that were look forward to a deep couch. My kids also were looking forward to depth that they could sink into whill waching tv. After looking at so many sofas, I didn't have the energy to return it.

I adore this sofa. I purchased it and the chair and couldn't be happier...well, I could be just a teency bit happier. The ONLY complaint I have is the accent pillows. They are unfinished on the inside and the covering of the pillow insert sticks to it so the pillows are weird shaped and they don't fill out the pillow cover..hard to explain, but I'm going to get some silky covers for the inserts and I'll see if that helps. Otherwise, this is a beautiful sofa, extremely comfy and inviting. I have three small non-shedding dogs that I let get up on the sofa (that's the reason I wanted this fabric and color) and it looks just as good and new as the day I got it.
Great sofa and chair!
My chair and sofa were delivered last week and they are beautiful! I ordered both in "otter" and the color is as it appears online. The delivery was smooth and on time. I'm very happy with my purchase.
