Tahari cotton stripe shirtdress

I bought this Summer dress online from Macy’s. The dress arrived today. It looks really nice, but I immediately realized that - although the attached label describes it as “cotton stripe shirtdress”, the description is completely misleading: The fabric is not cotton, but thick, stiff, cheap-looking polyester. The small label sewn inside confirms it’s polyester. Even the lining is polyester. It would be suffocatingly hot to wear this in the Summer heat. As the dress is not only a beautiful style, but the finishing and detailing are really good, it is surprising that cheap polyester fabric has been used. I will go tomorrow to the nearest Macy’s store to return it. I would have gladly paid more to have it in cotton.

Butter cream striped shirt waist

Attractive, beautifully lined, side zipper. The dress is a bit heavier than expected and top too large. I will have to return it.

Nice dress, but…

Beautiful dress. Feels good. Nice color. Nice style. Unfortunately, for some reason it doesn’t fit right, is uncomfortable to wear, there’s a hole in the left pocket, and it is hard to put on and take off. I will be returning it.

I love this dress! It reminds me of a yellow/white gingham dress Jackie Kennedy wore in her Whitehouse years. So chic! It looks and feels like soft quality cotton without the wrinkles. It's fully lined and comfortable in warm weather. I'm usually a size 10 but ordered a 12 just in case. It was too big overall, so I exchanged it for the 10. Don't tie the sash into a bow. Instead, tie a slip knot over your left hip next to the small crocheted loop designed to hold the belt up.
