An unforgettable coming of age novel for fans of 13 Reasons Why, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Fifteen-year-old Jeff wakes up on New Year's Day to find himself in the hospital specifically, in the psychiatric ward. Despite the bandages on his wrists, he's positive this is all some huge mistake. Jeff is perfectly fine, perfectly normal, not like the other kids in the hospital with him. But over the course of the next forty-five days, Jeff begins to understand why he ended up here and realizes he has more in common with the other kids than he thought. "With a sprinkling of dark humor and a full measure of humanness, Suicide Notes is quirky, surprising, and a riveting read. " Ellen Hopkins, author of The You I've Never Known and Love Lies Beneath" Like the very best teen novels, Suicide Notes is both classic and edgy, timeless and provocative. " Brent Hartinger, author of Geography Club" Makes a powerful emotional impact. " Publishers Weekly (starred review)"Jeff's wit and self-discovery are refreshing, poignant, and, at times, laugh-out-loud funny. " School Library Journal.

Love itt

I bought this and it read the first page and I could not put it down, I was so mad that he didn’t make another one but he just released it and I just bought it, it’s as good. This books keeps me on my feet the entire book, and I let my friends borrow it, and they love it. TW: it talks about scars from self harm and has some sexual content, only 4 scenes but not appropriate for anyone under at least 14 or 16

I'm not mad, just disappointed. :(

NO SPOILERS Look, the book was fine. Fairly realistic, especially with Jeff's coping, his personality, and so on. I would know, being a teenager myself. However, I just don't understand why it was necessary to include such explicit scenes. I typically wouldn't care, but I was physically repulsed. You'd think a book couldn't jumpscare someone, but it did. And especially with how young the characters are. It's very disturbing. The author could've revealed Jeff's secret in other ways. Other than said parts, the characters were decent. It showed that everybody did have problems, and that they were struggling, but not that they were just savage children, but that they just didn't know how to cope with their problems. The realism of the character's actions and personalities were also pretty good. And the representation of disorders was impressive. Especially with the selective mutism due to trauma. I didn't care for how the end was, though. It felt like the author just wanted to write the book for the end, and set it up poorly. It was very unnecessary, and honestly, could've just been left out. So, if you plan on getting this book for someone, please, please, please, get it for someone who doesn't mind and is mature enough to handle such topics, but I'd actually recommend you don't get it all.

Not great, not terrible.

BASIC WARNING: The book contains some language and sexual activity The book started out well, and I really liked it. It was a relatable book. Then came the sexual activity. I get it, this does happen in some cases, but this was really out of character, and it wasn't very relevant to the book. I get that it does reveal certain things, but it really wasn't necessary. It just felt forced, like the author was just kinda looking for an excuse to write it. Otherwise, It's a good book, and I like the perspective on it. Most of his thoughts and actions seem right for his age. Just try to avoid reading it if you're under 16.

Good, but please be cautious.

I love this book, but it's not really meant for kids 13-15. It does contain some mature content besides the mentions and stories of suicide, such as the main character being included in very explicit and blunt sexual activities. It's a great book for people who can handle that kind of thing, so be careful.
