Worst customer service ever

Bouth a loveseat from Macys and when tried to return it because it was not the proper size, the customer service guy after almost an hour in discussion, told me that he contacted the 3rd party and that they will send a courier to pick up the furniture and that I did not need a return label. I just confronted a UPS driver who came without any previous notifications of his arrival, and told me that he can not take the sofa, in order for him to take it it will have to be packaged and with a return order label. Who is lying, Macys or the 3er party? how can I resolve this problem? if someone knows, please reach to me and instruct me how can this be accomplished.
