This exclusive Barnes and Noble edition includes a beautiful pull-out poster on the inside of the jacket, plus two elements with art drawn by author Shannon Messenger: an illustration on the case of the book and special endpapers! In this stunning ninth book in the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie and her friends discover the true meaning of power - and evil. Sophie Foster changed the game. Now she's facing impossible choices: When to act. When to trust. When to let go. Her friends are divided and scattered, and the Black Swan wants Sophie to focus on their projects. But her instincts are leading her somewhere else. Stellarlune - and the mysterious Elysian - might be the key to everything. But finding truth in the Lost Cities always requires sacrifice. And as the Neverseen's plans sharpen into terrifying focus, it appears that everyone has miscalculated. The Lost Cities' greatest lie could destroy everything. And in the battle that follows, only one thing is certain: nothing will ever be the same.

Amazing!!!

Best. book. EVER! I wish I could give all of Shannon Messenger's books 10 stars! I've been reading KotLC for a few years now, and trust me when I say IT IS SO WORTH IT! This book is seriously the most amazing one in the series, and 10/10 would reccomend. (Team Foster-Keefe for the win!)

Adventure fantasy

Messenger leaves the reader with yet another cliffhanger in this ninth book of the Keeper of the Lost Cities series. The voice of the female MC is believable as she travels through various stages of teenage angst while trying to save their world. This series is classified as middle-grade, but since the female lead is now 15, I think it will appeal to YA readers.

Definitely one of the best, def recommend! ♾️

Hats off to Shannon Messenger for writing this book. Giving it to us after the boom 8.5. That book had a lot of information. I LOVE THIS FREAKING BOOK! I am obsessed with chapter 42 and just so u know, read the rest before that chapter. I swear it will make more sense. Reading Sophie’s POV and about her feelings. Eeeekkkk! Even Ro would make Foster blush for what happened. And sorry everyone! But spoilers aren’t my thang. But I love TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE! All the wayyy! I missed Keefe so much! Like every page I’d be like being him back! Pleaaaassseee! I can’t read a book without Keefe in it. And I’m in more sync with the choices and decisions Sophie takes. Yes, she may have started a war last book by burning the storehouse and it might not be the best choice, but remember Lord Hunkyhair wasn’t around. hats off. And honestly can anyone blame Linh, Marella and Maruca to just click together. They are the best trio team after TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE-FITZY And Dex and Biana with Tam. Hehehe, best group too! Love the lot. And Tam is mostly with Glimmer since the last book. And I loooooovvvvveeeee this book. It is the need of every Sokeefe team. Hehehee!!!

Sooo good

I got the Barnes and Noble exclusive version and it was so worth it. The cover was pretty and shiny and the poster on the back of the dust cover was gorgeous. The inside had little iggys and stuff, which was really cute. The book itself was amazing and made me squeal like a little girl. It had a lot less action than the previous books, but it’s all setting up for the action packed book I believe the next book will be. It had a lot of information dumped but was written so well so it wasn’t hard to get through. I finished this book in six hours and think if you haven’t read the series do so RIGHT NOW.

We waited 2 (practically 3) years for this?!

Unfortunately this is not on par with Messenger’s other books in the series. What makes it worse is that it’s been two years since her last and three since the last full length installment. After all this time we get a stalled beginning and everything afterwards is rushed towards the unavoidable cliffhanger. Even the ship fans have been waiting for is not enough to redeem Stellarlune since that scene also felt rushed. (Sophie is going to give him all the time he needs after all the time he gave her but wait, no she’s not. And all those enhancing clues from their shared history are never mentioned. Also, admirers of the OTHER ship are given one last evil shred of hope before it all hits the fan.) Overall I’m disappointed and concerned about the last book. We may never find out about the Great Gulon Incident.
