Be prepared to return them.

I just returned these CRE-C20 hearing aids for the SECOND time. My first set stopped working after two weeks. This time, after one week ponly the left hearing aid stopped working. Both sets showed as fully charged, the hearing aids just died. I very disappointed and expected more from Sony.

I can hear clearly now... 🎶!!

I've had my new hearing for not quite 1 week and I love them! I'm so thankful for them and how they are helping me hear, distinguish voices, even in a noisy, busy office area where we frequently have multiple people speaking at the same time. Plus watching TV or using social media with sound is so much easier to hear clearly. I'm thrilled!! Thank you Sony!

Have been wearing for only 2 days but, so far, have noticed a huge improvement over Eargo 7. They are more comfortable & better hearing.

Great Concept, Fatally Flawed Reliability

The Sony CRE-C20 Self-Fitting OTC Hearing Aids initially seemed promising, offering clear voice amplification and effective background noise reduction. In meetings and social settings, they significantly improved my ability to engage in conversations without straining to hear or relying on lip reading. Unfortunately, their major technical flaws far outweigh these benefits. - Charging Failures – A Critical Flaw: The most significant problem is the inability to hold a charge. Both the hearing aids and the charging case stopped functioning within days of use. Despite following all instructions in the manual and attempting every troubleshooting step, the issue persisted, rendering the device completely unusable. This was not a one-time failure. My first unit was purchased from a major online retailer (the Sony writing a review guidelines say to avoid mentioning retailers, but I think most people are aware of the retailer I am talking about) and within the first week both the hearing aids and the case charger failed made it unusable. I then decided to try a second unit, purchased directly from Sony, but it failed even faster—within two days. Since the first device was not directly from Sony, I wanted to ensure my experience wasn’t due to a single defective unit. Unfortunately, both units suffered from the same critical flaw, suggesting this is a widespread reliability issue rather than an isolated malfunction. - Fit and Comfort: While the hearing aids initially provided a good fit, they tended to loosen over time, requiring frequent adjustments. While not as critical as the charging issue, this did impact comfort during regular daily wear. - Final Verdict: Do Not Recommend Despite their effective noise reduction and voice enhancement, these hearing aids suffer from serious reliability issues that make them impractical for long-term use. Having experienced the same failure with two separate units from different purchasing sources, it is clear this is not an isolated defect. For those in need of a dependable hearing aid, exploring other brands would be a wiser investment. Sony has fallen short in delivering a dependable product.

5 weeks since I received my OTC C20 hearing aids

Didn’t want to write this review too soon as I wanted to make sure that I really do love these hearing aids. Put them in immediately upon receiving them and downloaded app, read instruction book, etc. Only tricky part was learning how to insert them in ear so that they didn’t fall out. My left one fell out during the first couple of days but after changing the sleeve and playing with the fit I got the knack of it. Am enjoying the sound quality and they are so much nicer than the one’s i got at the audiologists three years ago. Very pleased with this purchase! Thank you.
