Maybe too metallic and not enough pigment...

Did not last too long... I guess I just have to retry. I love Smashbox.

Not attractive

Trust I knew this was a metallic lip. However, on my beige (yes beige ;-)) skin it looked like liquid metal. Not a good look - but for a Halloween costume sure

My go to lip color (XO, Vlada)

Originally, I had purchased this product back in May when the line came out at Ulta for a coworker- I bought Desert Rose and XO Vlada because I was unsure which she would prefer (she chose the Desert Rose). I was a bit skeptical of this color at first, as I had A) never used smashbox liquid lips before and B) tend to avoid "orange/copper" colors and that how it looked in the bottle. I'm extremely cool toned so I was unsure. However, this is now officially my go to lip color! It compliments my complexion and eye color (hard for a lip color to do with dark brown eyes), it lasts ALL DAY without any of the metallic finish wearing away. My favorite is to pair the color with a darker nude/matte eye look and go about my day around the office. Additionally, can someone please confirm if the XO, Vlada color in the permanent line is comparable to this shade in the petal metal line?

This is not a matte lipstick

I bought this believing the “lipstick” was matte, as described. It is extremely metallic and not suitable for my age. It does not stay on for long. I would have returned it if I had not tried it first.

Favorite lipstick

Love this. Stays on great, In Bloom is perfect color. Not overly metallic-y when dry.

Lovely long lasting colour

Stunning metallic colour! I've got a couple of the regular always on lipstick and the pigment and payoff is incredible, this one is no different! The shimmer isn't over the top at all and looks beautiful on. I enjoyed a full meal plus a few glasses of bubbly and this barely budged. Love it.

My lips are Bloomin' marvellous!

Bought in the shade 'in bloom' and the colour is stunning.I was worried about applying a liquid lipstick, but it was so easy to apply with the applicator and no lip liner was required. The colour is long lasting and any dry flaky lip is hidden (as with all Smashbox lipsticks - love this). I would love to buy another in this colour, but it has sold out.... so I will try a different colour from this range!

Super Metallic, which can be played down

The first few times I tried this,I wasn't sure I'd like it. When slathered all over lips it is way too intensely metallic for my taste. I was a little dissapointed that my lips looked like I'd eaten a pound of fairy dust. I tried it on some more and tried only dabbing some in the center of lips and spreading around with a finger. Then add more for spots that are missing color. It does still have a shine to it, but more similar to the shine of nonmetallic lipgloss, which I like. I own In Bloom and Desert Rose, but will be buying XO, Vlada soon. Desert Rose is really nice for pale skin and redish hair. It also last for several hours with very little color coming off, if you don't wear chapstick with it
