Very Heavy
Lovely, is durable and washes fine
High quality, beautiful and cozy. I have MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities) so I actually soaked this in soda ash for 24 hours, then 12 gallons of vinegar for 24 hours to remove any manufacturing/shipping chemicals. Both soaks were done in a bathtub with cold water where I stomped on it with rain-boots to wash/rinse it and then put it in my washer on cold gentle cycle and dried in the sun for a day. It turned out fine. It is stiffer and thicker than it was prior to washing because the wool shrank and got matted inside the cover. But it now fits perfectly inside my king duvet cover. Prior to washing, it was too big for the duvet cover. Although this is absolutely heavenly, for some reason this wool comforter makes my tinnitus worse every time I get near it. Very odd. Not sure if I will be able to continue to use it, but still highly recommend it.
5 stars for quality, 4 stars for breathability
This really deserves 5 stars, but let me explain. The quality is 5 stars. The thick and beautiful sateen cotton that encases the wool is high quality and durable compared to other wool comforters… BUT, it’s this high quality and tight weave that makes the comforter less breathable. The wool cannot absorb the moisture from my body when the cotton encasement is less breathable. I purchased a different one from woolroom and the quality/durability was far less than this one, but it breathed much better. I ended up keeping this one because of the price and quality, but miss the breathability of the other one. Perhaps making the comforter with a percale cotton instead of sateen would be better. One nice thing about this is if you get cold, just throw a thin blanket on top
Best comforter I have ever had! Period.
I have never thought I would be hooked on a comforter! Wool is indeed an amazing fiber for bedding. I wish I were introduced to it much sooner. Best sleep ever!!
