Difficult to return

The actual shoe style was fine. The problem was that they run at least 1/2 size larger than expected. I ordered these online and I wear the same size in 90% of the shoes that I have including another pair of Skechers. I took these back to Macy's to return and instead of being able to either exchange them or get my money back, they had to send me store credit. I can understand that, however instead of being able to get the credit instantly or by email, they have to physically mail the credit to me. I have been waiting several days now and I expect it to take over a week or so to get the credit. In the mean time, the size that I need for these shoes is now out of stock. I have not been a Macy's shopper in the past and this is not a good first impression for me.
