this book is easily the best YA fantasy novel I've read in a while. Bought the first book two days ago and I finished it today and I already went back to buy the second. The world building and characters are so amazing you just get pulled in. the plot twists kept coming and you never really were sure what would happen next. 10/10 recomend

Leigh Bardugo is a mastermind
Six of Crows is a literary masterpiece. Leigh Bardugo is capable of weaving a story through the viewpoints of 6 different characters but still keeps the plot cohesive and entertaining. Six of Crows is set in the Grishaverse, the world that Bardugo has been building for years through the Shadow and Bone series. The worldbuilding throughout the story explains the fantastical world of the “small science”, and leaves the reader in awe of the power of Grisha. Out of all the characters, Kaz is by far my favorite. His deeply troubled past builds into his relationship with Inej, which is one of the best parts of the novel in my opinion. There is so much hidden behind the gloves, behind closed doors, and behind the facade that he has spent so much time building up. If you can unwrap all of his outer layers, a beautifully built character is there. There was never a dull moment in Six of Crows. This book had me on edge the entire time, and I found myself wondering what was going to happen next when I was not reading it. If you start reading Six of Crows, make sure you have a lot of time to lose, because it’s not a book you can just put down. Young Adult Fantasy novels, let’s face it, are pretty repetitive. One of the things I liked so much about Six of Crows is that it strayed so dramatically from the usual YA plotlines, romances, and even endings. You had six anti-heroes, of which you couldn’t decide if you loved (definitely) or hated. Now to be fair, there has never been a character that I have been so conflicted as to my opinion of as I was with Mattias. One of my issues with Crows: Six of Crows can leave a reader unsatisfied after the cliff-hanger ending. It didn’t exactly tie up all the loose ends, but hey, that’s what the sequel is for. And MAN, the sequel is good. Six of Crows made me laugh, cry, smile, and wish I could jump right in and join the crew. No mourners, no funerals…

A favorite!
Six of Crows was an amazing, thrilling and exciting novel. I loved the writing and the mesmerizing plot that just pulled me in from the start. I also loved the characters; Kaz, Inej, Jasper, Nina, Matthias and Wylan. They were great but also complex which made them feel real. And Ketterdam was described in really great detail.A really unique novel that is definitely one of my all time favorites! And I can't wait to see what happens next in Crooked Kingdom.
