Great Watch

Even more beautiful in person. In the photo, the markers look whitish with a hint of what appears to be a very pale yellow/green lume hue, but are actually crisp white in person as far as my eyes could tell.

Astonishing dial

This is a special edition of the 4th gen Seiko "monster" diver with a stunning "penguin" dial. Like a Grand Seiko, you really need to look at this thing under a jewelers' loupe to appreciate just how detailed and textured this dial is. Remarkable. There are plenty of reasons why this might not be the watch for you: the monster's styling is always polarizing among Seiko enthusiasts (I like it, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.) It's not the best bang for the buck (no sapphire crystal, pressed clasp, poor diver's extension for the price), it's very heavy if you wear it on the bracelet, it's a dirt magnet, etc. But once you look at that amazing dial, everything else is forgiven. And of course you get Seiko's bulletproof 4R36 movement under the hood.
