Failed, set combo as described above. See UPDATE
Here is how to set the new combination. 000 is the factory default. Open the lock. While it is open, use a small, straight tool, depress AND HOLD the reset button while setting the new combination. Did all that then released the button, closed the lock. Neither the new combo nor 000 will open the lock. I wonder what the combination is now. UPDATE: Set new combo then jerked several times to open and guess what, it opened. Seems to be poor quality control during manufacture. If you've had a similar problem suggest you try yanking hard several time to see if it opens. Please comment if it works or doesn't.
