Over sized blue and gray rug

The rug smells terrible. I’m not sure I want to keep this rug. The rug is pretty but the smell is very strong like a petroleum . I wouldn’t recommend this rug to my friends.

Leave your new rug in a well-ventilated space with your doors and windows open and frequently vacuum over the first few days. For a quicker fix, open your windows and place a fan where it can blow across your new rug. In a small space, consider a portable air filter to help with new rug odor removal. Safavieh
