No longer made in Germany

Just returned this unit. Sadly, unlike the pictures, it is no longer made in Germany. You can guess where this made.

Disappointed

I have any many rowenta irons in the past and this is the first rowenta iron I spent the most money on. I bought this iron a few months ago because it was on sale and I knew I was moving. Well today is day 3 and when I went to turn the knob to iron the knob came apart. Not worth the money at all. Now how am I going to iron the rest of the clothes for the week?!

Rowenta makes the best irons

I was upset when my old Rowenta that had served me for 8 years conked out. So happy to have found that Macy's still sold the Rowenta Irons that are made in Germany! I will say that having read all the reviews, I chose not to order it online, but rather go to the store in person. All the boxes were mangled and the items looked like they had been opened. So I selected the best one there - and also mentioned to the sales assistant that the section looked really like a yard sale or the clearance bin at a big box store and really needed to be cleaned up. I suppose nobody irons anymore - just Martha Stewart (or her minions), the contestants on Project Runway, my mother and I - so they don't think it's worth paying a lot of attention to that part of the store, but nonetheless... take care of your customers.

Terrible Iron - do not buy

This iron is not worth the money. I purchased this brand be us I had a great experience with my last iron. Unfortunately, this iron has turned out to be a disappointment. It is difficult to turn the control dial and it does not clearly indicate the levels of heat and for which fabrics. I set the temp for my normal ironing and it literally burnt holes in my good shirt. I wish I could return it but it is passed the date for returns.
