Quality has gone way down hill. Do not buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For reference -- I have another pair of these and they are a powerhouse kitchen tool...Great spring, sturdy, fun locking mechanism. Ordered a second, and these are awful, quality has completely vanished. the spring is weak and catches, you have to use your thumb to help push the tongs open, and FYI they are now made in China, not Germany. Another brand that seems to be cutting corners on manufacturing and hoping their decades of good reputation will keep them afloat.
