Boring
I’m half way through this and it’s going in the Did not finish pile. It is so ridiculous and so boring. I cannot imagine why anyone would love this book! And it’s not the religious part that bothers me. It’s the same ideas written over and over. I do not recommend

Unforfettable
I have read a lot, including Dickens, Hemingway, Dumas, many great authors. Redeeming belongs with the best of them. I can't remember being so moved by a work of fiction. I will be reading this again and again.

Beautiful, inspiring, romance
Oh my, what a beautiful book! I cried many times throughout the twist and turns between Sarah (Angel) and Michael. The final chapter where things come back together was breathtaking! The epilogue though, had me utterly sobbing tears of joy for these characters. She thought she would not be able to have children and they had many. It is a romance, however it is NOT a steamy romance. It is based on the book of Hosea and I am so glad I read it!

Powerful
An amazing, life changing story that was painful. But redeeming God’s grace was evident and so inspirational. Words are hard to put together to describe the feelings evoked. I cried many times, especially at the beginning because it was so painful, the treatment Angel endured and the broken person she was inside. So defensive and pulling into what she knew. Michael also broke my heart because he was trying to do what God wanted him to do and she kept rejecting him. Powerful, riveting, heartbreaking and redeeming. God's grace and mercy cannot be denied and we should always remember that..

Powerful Story But Hard to Relate
Redeeming Love is known as a major staple in Christian fiction and Francine Rivers is a highly honored writer, making this work of art a treasure to many. Please don’t get me wrong, I love Francine Rivers' work (especially A Lineage of Grace, which hands down was the one of the best portrayals of Biblical women I have ever seen), but Redeeming Love didn’t hit the spot like I was hoping it would. I think I had a grand expectation of the story, and it fell a little short. I really enjoyed the characters of Miriam, Michael, and even Paul, but I struggled to like the main character Angel. I know that her struggles and tribulations can be related to by so many women out there, and this book touched their lives, but to those of us who have never experienced those life changing things, Angel can come out as annoying. I do love, though, Angel’ character arc and how she came to depend on the Lord. But throughout the majority of the book, I felt myself more drawn to Michael and his kindness. It taught me overall to have patience with others as God has patience with us. However, I do have a warning. Some very graphic scenes come up, and I found myself almost feeling ashamed for reading this book and embarrassed to be reading in public. I feel like Francine Rivers slightly crossed the line with how steamy she wrote some parts of the book and it was not very appropriate. Just a warning. Overall, I enjoyed this book but I feel the rave about it was greater than the actual reality of the book.
