Is this IKEA or Macy's
When I ordered this bed and mattress/boxspring together through the Macys, I was surprised to see it came as two separate shipments from separate distributors. I was able to get free shipping (assuming based on the overall cost of the order), but had the option to pay for white glove service delivery (which made sense to purchase given my past experience with white glove delivery and thinking I wouldn't have to worry about anything). It turns out the bed came in 2 large boxes a day before the mattress/boxspring, which were still on track to deliver the next day via white glove delivery. I called Macys the day before the mattress/boxspring were scheduled to arrive, to inquire about installation given the white glove delivery package. I was informed that Macy's used a third party distributor for the bed, and they had no control over that part of the order. I explained that this was ordered as a package, but they insisted it wasn't their problem. I asked about what "white glove delivery" meant if they really were only in charge of the mattress/boxspring, and they said it was for proper installation of mattress/boxspring? I inquired about how much "installation" was required for a mattress/boxspring, and couldn't get a straight answer. They ended up knocking off $25 off the "white glove delivery service" due to the confusion. I ended up securing a TaskRabbit person to assemble the bed because Macy's wasn't going to take responsibility for it. He was great, but informed me the bed didn't come with instructions. He was going to do his best, but asked if I could call to try to get instructions. Calling Macy's, they initially informed me that they couldn't control this, as it came from a 3rd party distributor, and all they could do was email them to ask. After some nudging on my end, explaining I was paying for someone to put this together, they said they could give them a call. I was told the instructions were being sent right away. They never came. I assume the customer service person lied to me on the phone. The bed ended up being fine, but the Macy's customer service was terrible. As a large company, how do you outsource a portion on an order to a 3rd party and not take any responsibility for that end of the purchase?

Excellent value
Excellent value in this Queen size platform bed with 2 storage drawers, also a trundle bed set-up. Good quality, attractive, much nicer than what you see in the retail stores. Assembly required; not difficult but takes time.
