A novel of manners about the romantic pas de deux between Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, two perfectly suited lovers who, at first, find each other insufferable. Despite Elizabeth's negative feelings about Darcy, fate seems determined to keep throwing this pair together, and Darcy, almost in spite of himself, will make revelations that end up causing Elizabeth to question everything she believes. Set in a time when marrying well was a woman's only way to assure a secure and comfortable future, Pride and Prejudice is arguably the forerunner of all romantic comedies and certainly one of the best-loved novels of all time.

Author’s names misspelled

The book is my favorite but I don’t think much of an edition with the author’s name misspelled.

If you’re wondering why it has such a bad rating

Pride and Prejudice is a clever, joyful masterpiece that gives us a glimpse at the late 1800s (and early 1900s). It’s very detailed and slow-paced, but not at all boring. When an author can make a book primarily consisting of parties, debates, and friendly outings interesting—you know they’re good at what they do. Now, addressing most of the one star reviews: I’m almost certain the majority of these reviews are from students who were required to read this. They probably dreaded having to read and wanted to fill the reviews up with one star reviews mentioning literally nothing about the book other than it allegedly being “boring”. Well, I don’t recommend going through the one star reviews as they’re a mess, so if you want to hear people’s honest opinions on why they disliked it, perhaps read the three star reviews. As for me, there’s nothing I didn’t like about this book.
