This is a piece of garbage. My fried chicken has never came out this bad. It used way too much oil, the food doesn’t cook evenly and it ruined our entire dinner.

worst fryer
This fryer looked so promising. My husband went fishing in Alaska and brought back some halibut The batter stuck to the baskets right away. And the had to used a spatula to scrape the fish out. It fried French fries fine. But terrible for battered fish. Sad I spent money on this.

Fresh fish is the best! We share in the manual (under helpful hints) that battered foods will stick to the basket and for your halibut, you may want to use the fryer without the basket. Non-battered food such as fries, frozen onion rings, etc. work well with the deep fryer. Give it a try again without the basket and remove your fish with heat resistant tongs or a scoop made for high temps. Very happy 6 months later !!
So far happy with product. Have had for 6 months with great results! We use this fryer usually 3-4 times a week and we have made everything from fries, to fried shrimp to PERFECT beer battered cod to chicken nuggets. We enjoy not having to waste so much oil now and it has saved us a boat load of money . Trying to find another one to bring up to our lake house but our local stores are sold out . Will try online .

Still going strong with no regrets.
I bought this back in April 2021 so I think it's time to write my review now in March 2024. I do a lot of frying with this. Not small amounts for a family of 4. I fry for about 30 people each time from my RV. For a countertop fryer, it does what it's supposed to. It has held up well. I've done 30lbs of chicken wings in a night. 20lbs of fish on others. Oil heat recovery time is minimal if you use the lid. Cleaning is easy. I boil the baskets in another pot to get rid of the grease when I'm finished. It hasn't broke even once. I'm thinking of buying another to increase my capacity.

Never gets to temperature
I have had this for 3 months now. It never gets to 375 degrees. This company does not care about what people want. They just want your money for something they will never fix.

I am the recipient of derricks deep fryer. He tried all of the troubleshooting and he is also an electrician so he took apart the back and made sure things were working properly on that end. The pre heat light only came on if you hit the appliance and then went right back off. It never warmed up. There was oil in it the first time we ran it. The concept of the product is great. I don’t know if it is poor workmanship or shipping issues or both but they need to be worked out IMMEDIATELY. It’s no fun getting a gift that doesn’t work and is no fault of your own ( or the gift givers).

You do have a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Taking apart an appliance will void the warranty, however. Trash appliance, trash brand.
Didn’t work right out of the box. This is a garbage product. The makers care about one thing only- taking your money and giving you trash in return. Will not buy another presto appliance.

If your fryer fails to preheat or if the cooking process stops: 1. Check cord assembly to assure magnetic plug is attached to the appliance and the cord is plugged into the wall outlet. 2. Check to see that both guides on the front of the control unit are properly positioned in the tracks on the back of the base. 3. The reset button may have tripped. The deep fryer is equipped with a sensor which will automatically shut the unit off if it is heated without oil or water or with insufficient oil or water. Older oil that has become thick and solid fats may not conduct heat well and may also cause the sensor to trip and the unit to shut off. Unplug and allow the unit to cool. Correct the cause of overheating. Then with the tip of a screwdriver, press the red RESET button on the back of the control unit. The unit will not operate until it is reset. Before plugging the unit back in, make sure there is sufficient oil or water in the fryer, or if the oil is old, replace the oil with fresh oil.
