Not as good as the presto popper we replaced

When operating popcorn maker, the kernels pop up and out of the chamber, UNTIL there are no longer any kernels that need to pop. Meaning that the last of the popped popcorn remains in the chamber and do not make it into the bowl unless we use oven mitts to hold the lid while tilting the popper. Sometime the popped corn lifts the lid and popcorn flies all over the kitchen. Also, when we unplug, it makes a quick whistling sound. This is not our first Presto popper, so we noticed something was wrong with this one right away. The first time we used it, we smelled smoke. Sent it in for review and Presto could not duplicate the problem. We had an electrician check the kitchen outlet and they are fine. Only a matter of time that someone burns themselves while handling the popper to get the popcorn into the bowl.

We are sorry to hear you are not happy with your popper. There can be a few unpopped kernels at the end of the popping cycle. This is normal and may not come out on their own. The cover will be hot as hot air from the popper will heat the cover as well. It's suggested to use oven mitts or hot pads when touching the cover, if you must. If you do, you should replace the cover back onto the popper right away so you avoid warping. It could be possible you slightly overfilled the popping chamber. When this happens, the air does not circulate well, popcorn may smoke and can leave a scorch mark. Try a LEVEL scoop of popcorn and see if you are successful with your popcorn. If not, call 1-800-877-0441 and ask to speak to the social media rep. We truly want you to enjoy your popper and we will do our best to help you out.

Smoking/ melting

We received one for a wedding present. Just using it for the first time a year later. The thing started smoking. Thought it was just because it was the first use. After trying again, I melted some plastic or something and started smoking like crazy. We have no idea who gave it to us. But pretty sure it’s broken😅

Inferior product

I bought this 10 months ago and it just died. I dont use it too often so it is just an inferior product. I used it per the instructions ie. never fill more than the cup measure, no oil in chamber, rested it between popping if I ever made more than 1 batch which was maybe twice. My original popcorn popper (Popcorn Pumper brand) lasted more than 20 years and was still going strong but it had a crack in the lid so I bought this one. Very disappointed in this brand.

We are sorry to hear this! In the case that your popper was overfilled or used for consecutive batches, it will possibly smoke, and shut itself off. The popper will then need a 15-minute cool down time prior to operating again. Briefly plug the popper in now that it has cooled to see if you have any power. If not, kindly let us know. Please contact our Customer Service team Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Central Time, by phone at 1-800-877-0441. We are happy to help you!

Perfectly Designed

Presto perfectly designed a popcorn maker with good creativity. They have a cord wrap and they did everything great. I would recommend this. My Criticism: Please add a switch to these models because it's a pain to constantly plug and unplug the popcorn maker add vents to the head, I had another popcorn maker with vents that was normal temperature but my poplite overheated sometimes after a batch. Please add some vents so it could cool down easier and faster. Otherwise, Good job Presto! Another win with their products.

Measuring scoop cracked

Being a popcorn lover I searched for the highest rated machine and your Poplite ranked very high. Unfortunately I experienced the same problem with my new one as I had with the previous machine. The scoop/measuring cup/melter cracked! There is a crack in center spot of the scoop. I thought maybe I was waiting too long for the butter to melt with the first one so I haven’t been melting butter in the new one. Same problem. It is still functional but if I wanted to melt butter it would probably just drop into the popping area. Very disappointed.

Fake popcorn news!

I just made my first batch of popcorn in the PopLite following all directions. The machine claims virtually no unpopped kernels. Not only did 10 to 15 unpopped kernels fly out of the spout before kernels began to pop, there were approximately 30 unpopped kernels after the popping stopped.

Most Presto hot air poppers operate by weight. If there is not enough weight in the popping chamber, the hot air will blow out unpopped kernels. Note: Some varieties of small and lighter weight kernel popcorn are not recommended for use with hot air poppers.
