Kids love it

Kids love this😍

Messy, fiddly and difficult for little hands to us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super excited to try out this kit! My four year old daughter loves the idea of being able to create pretend soft serve ice cream and the ability to use different colours at once. She has been asking for something like this for ages and was super keen to select it when the chance came up to trial it. I am actually disappointed with this kit now that we have received it and tried it out. It is very clunky to use and tricky to get all the components to work smoothly. There are a number of areas that could be improved. Firstly the lever to create the soft serve doesn’t attach very well to the base frame so it comes off quite easily. Secondly it is very fiddly to get it to fit in nicely to the compartment containing the playdoh. Thirdly the compartment to put the play doh in is not ideal and contains a lot of nooks and crannies that will collect playdoh and it is difficult to clean it out. It would be better if it was just one large compartment and you could put whatever colours you want in there rather than having to separate them and put them in two small separate compartments. Fourthly the handle that you need to screw on and attach to the base to create sprinkles does not attach securely and easily. So within a few turns of the handle, my daughter ended up with the handle in her hand disconnected from the kit. I like that we effectively received 6 colour play dohs as each tub contained two colours. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to separate the two colour playdoh that came in each tub or leave them joined? However I don’t think it matters as all the colours end up getting mixed together due to the “mixing” nature of the soft serve maker. It is going to be tricky preventing my daughter from eventually mixing all the colours together and ending up with a large amount of “brown” playdoh! 😂 All in all, my daughter still loved the kit and loved the idea of making ice cream for us and her toys. The kit comes with a play cone, sundae cup and ice cream bowl and spoon accessories. And you can use some moulds to make other little decorations. I know that the playdoh needs to be soft enough to push through the compartments of the machine but we found this playdoh to be particularly soft and sticky which didn’t help with getting it off our fingers and out of the crevices in the machine.

Lots of fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids had fun with this set, very easy to assemble. Nice and bright colours of playdough. It is not very durable as it kept falling over when pushing out the playdough into ice-cream. Its good for imaginative play and kept my kids busy for a long time!

Also, great different options to create with their imagination from sundaes to shaved ice with topping options. Definitely a safe and minimal mess toy.
