Said “Yes to the Dress!”

As a 71 year old, I have been shopping for a dress for our 50th anniversary vow renewal church service and reception. I wanted navy blue or a mixed colored dress with cream or gold colors and navy. I went to three bridal shops and been shopping on line. I am really am not a fan of most of the styles for the mother of the bride. This is a prom dress and I did not think it would look good on me but I loved the bottom and the glittery fabric. It was very thinning on my waist and the top looked great too. It is part zipper, part lace up in the back. I will add a shrug to cover the upper back area and add sleeves because our elbows do not stay nice as we age. I am 5 foot 4 and weight 185. The fit was perfect. It is a bit long so will see what shoes I get or I will get it hemmed. It is nothing like the styles I have been trying on and it is such a fun dress. My first date with my husband was his high school prom so what a good dress for me! I always worked for Macys in Queens NY while I was a senior in high school and through the first two years of college. I will try to get jewelry to match at Macys too and my shoes so I can reconnect with my Macy day roots. This store is not in my town but near my daughters home. She actually picked it out for me to try.

Formal ball gown

Purchased a size 16 for a person 5'3". Such a classic look and perfect fit. The Macy's fashion assistant was amazing.
