LUMIX FZ80D 18.1MP Point & Shoot Digital Camera
Product Details
Web ID: 19726671Great Little Camera!
Yes, the FZ80D is a point-and-shoot camera, but it can deliver excellent results, especially for wildlife photography. For a couple of years I used the FZ80, always in P Mode, and that was fine, but I tried pushing past the "point-and-shoot" label with the FZ80D and have been richly rewarded, especially for wildlife photography. Partnered with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, I can shoot RAW files using Shutter-Priority and Auto-ISO to capture wildlife that P-Mode would never catch. Lightroom is able to "Denoise" the FZ80D's RAW files, making even the top ISO 3200 very useable. Almost all the images I've posted going back to mid-September 2024 at https://jwallphoto.blogspot.com/ were made with the FZ80D. Great beginner's nature camera
Received this camera as a gift in August; I'm new to photography. I'm using it primarily for birding/nature photography and also general use/city photography. I've basically stopped using my iPhone for photos at this point. I really like this camera's zoom, shooting speed, and ability to take quality photos with no little experience. At this point I'm mostly using the intelligent auto settings but am starting to learn more as I go. The main drawbacks I have found are a relatively quick battery life (maybe around 2-3 hours of pretty continuous use) and lower quality in low light. For a beginner nature camera, I would highly recommend.

What was Panasonic thinking?
I purchased this camera a few months ago and to my dismay, like another reviewer, discovered it is not WIFI enabled. Who makes a camera in this day and age that is not WIFI enabled? It just seems ridiculous. I also found out that there is no panorama setting. This explains why the camera's price point was so low. This was supposed to be my main camera but now this will end up being my back up as it is lacking in features. Definitely won't be recommending this one to my friends and family.

Hello Lati! We are sorry to hear that your experience did not match your expectations. Your feedback helps us do better and improve our services! Some of our cameras do not have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or certain photo modes and settings, while others do have them all or just a variation of these features. We have a wide range of selection when it comes to our cameras and their features. This give us the opportunity to meet our customers' needs and expectations, with our wide selection. If you would like point at shoot camera that can shoot panorama pictures and has built-in Wi-Fi, we would advise looking at the DMC-FZ300K camera as it has both features.
Big problem
Just purchased this camera and discovered it does not have WiFi or Blue Tooth capability, so it is impossible, or extremely difficult, to transfer photos to an iPad or iPhone. A deal breaker for me. Seems to be a very nice camera with great features, but if you can’t easily share your pictures it’s useless, so its going back.

Great bridge camera for the beginner photographer
I recently started birding and went down a rabbit hole of research and YT videos. I wanted to capture birds through photography but do not want to invest in a DSLR or mirrorless camera and lenses until I am sure I am sticking with this hobby. I landed on the FZ80D which, for the time being, will meet my needs. The FZ80D impressively captures the distance for birding, it's great for family pictures and outdoor photos (not that great in dim lighting or indoor) and all on a fixed bridge lens. As I get more into the hobby I will consider a nicer DSLR or mirrorless but this more than meets my needs for now.
