Last year I bought Oral B model 3791, Pro1000. Due to the descriptor I expected three different modes of cleansing. I have yet to know if I've changed any of the modes, despite my attempts to do so. I use whatever mode it is in - unsure if I've adjusted the original mode. It has a strong rotation and cleansing action. My plaque has diminished per my dental hygienist with my 2 min brushing, twice daily. I changed the brush head to the sensitive brush head which is more comfortable for my gums. I am in my 70s and do have receding gums. I am happy with the Oral B toothbrush's effectiveness, but disappointed that I can't adjust the modes more easily and with confidence I've done so.

Clean teeth but poor design
My teeth felt super clean since first use. My teeth feel as clean as after my hygienist polishes them.....However, the timer pause feature is an extreme annoyance. Even though I know it's a normal feature it makes the toothbrush feel as if there's something wrong with the battery or something internally is stuck. I would prefer that Oral B not do my thinking for me and give the option to turn the timer off. I can count and/or look at a click. I've noticed other people have the same issue as my 2nd problem which is power it off. It's very annoying one must either hold on the power button for three seconds or press it three times to shut it off. Having this speed feature may be a good idea but having a separate button would be better design as the choice given to turn it off either causes a mess on the mirror or fumble around with it in your mouth. I wonder ORAL B had any product testing or if someone in development team made an arbitrary decision because that was his or her preference. Both issues I see with this brush seems to indicate little thought when adding these features. The two problems are minimal and more of an annoyance than a problem with it's function. It would be nice if companies used real world typical use in their design. With the amount of money companies spend on product design and R & D one would think this would be much better design but seems they don't it's there money's worth.

No actual pressure sensor
Pressure sensor does not work. That is the main functionality I was looking for in an Oral-B brush. There's no light or sound to notify if you're brushing too hard. Unless I literally try and break the brush by holding the head from moving, it will not stop its cleaning.

Best gift ever!
As my son has been growing up, he really wanted a toothbrush similar to his dad's and older brothers. I loved this particular design for him by Oral-B and decided to surprise him for the holidays. Oral-B Pro Crossaction 1000 rechargeable electric toothbrush has been a fantastic addition and replacement of his old toothbrush. Not only he feels like the coolest kid on earth, but the brushing teeth war has ended and he is wanting to brush his teeth throughout the day without any battles. It's very effective and easy to use. Super easy to charge and replace the heads when needed. I love that it's rechargeable and electric making it easily portable. Doesn't take long to recharge, the battery lasts a while without needing to constantly charge comparing to his old toothbrush. There are 3 modes (daily clean, whiten, and sensitive). Every 30 seconds it lets you know when to switch areas of the mouth. I find that helpful and educating for a child. Don't forget to replace your toothbrush head every 3 months! Couldn't have purchased a better brush for my child! Happy child, happy dentist and definitely happy mama!

Gross
Saliva and toothpaste enter a hole in the brush head, flows down the inside, and runs out onto the handle. It is necessary to wrap the handle with a cloth to brush. It is so gross I can’t use this toothbrush.

Gross.
The brush head has a hole in it and the vibrating mechanism is exposed. Spit and toothpaste enters the hole, runs down the inside, and flows out onto the handle. Your hand will be covered in it. Impossible to use without wrapping the handle in a cloth. Pressure feature is impossible to recognize, should be removed from literature as a feature. Bristles and motion are effective but is so small I brush 4 minutes instead of two in order to clean teeth effectively. Do not purchase.

I have used the Oral B electric toothbrush for years. I ordered my third one because the old one wouldn't hold a charged. I used the new one for the first time today and it kept slipping out of my hand, The old one had grip material all the way around it. The new one (1000) only has grip material on the back. Add some water and toothpaste and it slips right out.
