#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART marks the launch of a new series from Stephanie Garber about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in true love and happy endings . . . until she learns that the love of her life will marry another. Desperate to stop the wedding and to heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing. But after Evangeline’s first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game — and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she’d pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy.

Addicted

I finished all 3 books within a couple days. Literally couldn’t put them down! One of the best series I’ve read in a very long time. I hope she writes more spinoff series from the Caraval world. They are addicting!

Amazing characters (especially Jacks)

I absolutely loved this book! I also love how naive Evangeline is, it truly makes this book! And my favorite character of all, Jack's. Such a mystery character!! Can't wait to see what Stephanie Garber takes from this book to Ballad of Never After! I would say the pace is moderate to slow, but its still action-packaged and always kept me entertained! I love how she wrote these events and its a great slow-burn romance with a subplot (but more focused on romance)!

A must re-read!

I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did as I typically read more high fantasy but I could not put this down.. and went on to read the entire series. It's now one of my favorite series of all time and is so beautifully delicate, I will treasure it forever.

Currently My favorite series

I thought it was a good series. The world was very immersive. It was very well written. I read the series in three days. And I had to re-read it a few times because I have a bad book hang over from this series. I need more.

Strong Start then became quickly boring

I started this because I had to read it to get to the second book which is what I really was interested in. Much to my disappointment I couldn't finish this book. I enjoyed the first half but slowly was become annoyed and frustrated with the main character. It was like every bad thing that could possibly happen to one person was happening to her. She wasn't making choices that would help her and then she would act so surprised and shocked when it didn't go in her favor! I loved the world building and the fantastical aspect of everything in this fantasy but I draw the line at frustrating characters and poor story telling.

Not for the story itself

I've been looking forward to reading this book so I was extremely happy when it arrived, however I'm a tiny bit disappointed due to the fact the spine of the cover was peeling off so I had to put some tape on it. Personally I don't particularly care since I'm using this copy to annotate but if it's important to somebody else on whether it's in good condition or not then I hope this was helpful

Amazing! (SPOILERS)

I purchased this book after reading many books by Stephanie Garber. Even though this series is separate from the Caraval series I recommend reading Caraval before reading this series. I enjoyed this book but found it a bit boring. I almost gave up on the book , but it wasn't so bad. The second book in the series is definitely better than this one
