Excellent! Just Excellent!

My son suggested that I start juicing due to health reasons and I started doing my research and came across the Omega 8004. It's quiet and doesn't juice with heat which I found to be the best. My, oh my, I just love this juicer. In less than 2 weeks, my health improved dramatically. I juice religiously and can tell the difference shortly after drinking the juice. It is well worth the price, but then again, you can't put a price on your health. I would absolutely recommend this product.

It's been a reliable workhorse!

We decided to really try the 8004 out, before reviewing. We bought ours in early 2012 and it continues to work, work, work. I juice at least 3 times a week, every week. Oh the combinations you can do! We like a kale/greens based juice with a variety of seasonal fruits and veggies (organic when available), we highly recommend a small kicker of fresh garlic/ginger/turmeric root be added to any juice blend. Making nut butters? Yes, on occasion with a fav being a lightly toasted pecan blended with a bit of coconut oil for taste and uniqueness, and yes, it is recommended to run the butter paste though at least twice or more for smoother texture. Also, this 8004 extrudes incredible Ramen noodles! You'll never want instant noodles again! Cleaning is pretty easy with just hot water with the included brush. My brush finally broke, so ordering another. I recommend juicing cukes and/or watermelon at the end which cleans out other pulps quite nicely. Be sure to compost your pulp! BUT, if you juice all your veggies and before any fruit, use the veggie pulp to stovetop simmer and you'll have delightful vegan broth that can be used for soups and all kinds of recipes. Great stuff! May try another style juicer some day, but for now.... all's well (and delish!)

Love mine.

I love my Omega 8004. I've owned it since the spring of 2013. It's so easy to clean compared to my old, large centrifugal juicer and handles greens very very well. Now, having owned it as long as I have, I did have to replace the screen although it took three years of regular use to have to do so. And yes, you pay about $10 for the shipping of it. I've noticed that this is the part of the juicer that is also very easy to misalign or impatiently shove into the machine. I've learned that if it doesn't easily slide right in, then something is wrong and needs to be dealt with before reattempting its insertion. If you order this juicer, which i HIGHLY recommend, then treat that screen like the precious piece that it is, being particularly careful when inserting it and making sure it's properly in place as it's not the metal screen in the front of the piece but the plastic grid screen in the back that first goes in that is the most fragile. I'm not saying this advice will prevent its replacement entirely, but I know it will highly reduce the chance of needing to replace it. Oh, and while I'm offering advice, save yourself the rare trouble of the juicer jamming by not overfilling the feeder tube. (That goes for all juicers I've used.) It's not as big of a deal with something like kale, but small carrots will cram in next to each other and block the tube. I did this the other day. I was rushing. I usually use large carrots and will go back to those or slow down with the smaller ones. :) And since I'm on a run, let me say that my skin glows from juicing, and I feel fantastically healthy when I juice. My typical juice is one apple, half to a whole cucumber, lots of greens in some combination of the following: kale/celery/cilantro/parsley/broccoli stems (super yum)/zucchini/chard or other leafy variety (go easy on mustard or dandelion greens until you're used to the strong taste), maybe a little bit of carrots OR beet, and a touch of lime/lemon/ginger. Something like that. YUM. Go easy on the fruits and root vegetables--use them to make it palatable, and go heavy on the greens. My doctor recently scolded me about juicing during my annual physical. She went on to lecture me for about 3 minutes (w/o asking what i put in my juicer) on how juicing loads too much sugar into one's body at one time. She recommended eating veggies raw or cooked and blended green smoothies with all of the fiber. I told her I eat veggies raw and cooked and drink green smoothies and very happily juice MOSTLY GREENS WITH A LITTLE FRUIT/ROOT VEG. She stopped lecturing. Then she learned that at 39 I was on zero medications. (I didn't think this was a big deal.) She kept asking me how that was possible. (She didn't congratulate me or say, great job.) She was simply in disbelief. Meanwhile, I thought, eek, is that what this country has come to? 39 on no meds is thought to be impossible? Ugh. Anyway, I told her maybe she'd see more clients on no meds if she'd stop lecturing against juicing and instead advise them that it's a fantastic way to load up on vitamins and minerals from vibrant veggies. Eating greens and juicing greens is the only thing I've found to curb (if not mostly cut) my very intense sugar tooth. I'd recommend this type of juicing to anyone to see how his/her body feels on it, and i would definitely recommend my Omega juicer. Enough said.

More than I thought

I thought I was buying a juicer only to find out it also grinds coffee, makes pasta and salsa, and so much more. It does not destroy the nutrients like most juicers. I am so glad I finally chose to invest in this heavy duty and fabulous machine.

Love this juicer!

I have had my juicer for a few weeks now and I love it! I am already on my second juice cleanse and have already lost 6 lbs. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is because it really isn't that great with chopped tomatoes. Better with COLD, grape/cherry tomatoes. And I wish the juice collector was calibrated - I eventually just used a sharpie so that I could get proportions right for my mason jars.
