Not really water repellent

The sizing and overall feel for the shoes are great. Fine smooth materials with decent cushioning. However, the shoes are water repellent to a degree. No I’m not referring to water sliding down your leg and into your socks. But water was actually getting through the toe area. Not the forefoot, that area held up great. However the toe area was soaked.

Go down 1/2 a size...

Quality is there. However, compared to the regular Free RN they are half a size large. The regular 10 Free fit me great. These (for some odd reason) run at least half a size large. Luckily, they are running shoes so they are still great for the function they were intended for. But my foot moves around then enough to draw attention. 20/20 hindsight: 9 1/2 fits better.

Almost as great as the Nike Free RN Flyknit 2018!

I own two pairs of Nike Free RN Flyknit 2018: the first I use every day for casual wear and the other is part of my regular running rotation. However, they are not the best for winter and wet running conditions. So I decided to buy a pair of Free RN 2018 Shield. I just completed my first run, and I really like them. The Shield is almost as great as the Flyknit. Just a little more rigid (so to speak).

Perfect cold weather sneaker!

They’re my winter work sneaker. I’m a valet manager at a hospital, so we’re open all year round, the hospital never closes. I wanted a sneaker that would be a bit water resistant and warm, but still let me run. These are perfect. They do exactly what I want, and they look great.

Rock collector

I wore these on paved trail, and had to stop 3 times to pick rocks out of the soles. This shoe has an upper that emphasizes being worn outdoors, yet the sole can't be worn outdoors without accumulating everything that you run over. Otherwise I loved the fit and style, but what's the point if I can't actually wear them? I will be returning them.
