An inspirational brief biography about former first Lady, Michelle Obama. The story was a little rushed, but I loved learning about her life and family. Perfect for children of all ages. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

another entry in a good series
As and adult, I have read Michelle Obama’s book, Becoming, and recommend it highly. Here we have a Michelle for the youngest readers in a new entry in the popular Little People, Big Dreams series. The same qualities come across in both books: Michelle values family, education, health, fitness and helping those who come along behind you. This title is recommended for both home and school libraries. It simply tells the story of an inspiring American woman. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title. All opinions are my own.

Awesome Woman Who Inspires!
Michelle Obama is a true inspiration. She grew up on the South Side of Chicago, where getting the best education was not always easy. Yet, she persevered and even though her guidance counselor discouraged her from applying to Princeton, she did. She graduated there and went on to Harvard to get a Law Degree. While First Lady, she championed Food & Fitness because that is essential to live a long and healthy life. Still, the most moving part was reading how slaves built the White House. I imagine none could envision a Black Family living there. Yet, it happened and shows history is long and nothing is impossible. I think Michele Obama has left that message for so many brown girls. Don’t let life ever tell you that you can not make it. You can. She also radiates strength to all. The only reason I gave this 4* instead of 5* is this is the first time the illustrations just didn’t bring more magic to the book. Excellent Book and should be a book in every school and library.

An Inspiring Story for Young Readers
A Little People, BIG DREAMS children’s book written by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, and illustrated by Mia Saine, this shares the life of Michelle Obama, former Attorney and First Lady, beginning with her more humble beginnings in the south side of Chicago, and her parents urging her to ’Study hard and be great!’ She wanted to become somebody like her father, and be the best person she could be when she could be when she grew up. She dreamed of attending one of the best universities, and attended a high school for the best students, the top achievers in the area, surrounded by other students who also wanted to be the best at what they did. When a teacher didn’t believe in her, she became even more determined to prove that teacher wrong. I love these stories aimed at encouraging young children, young readers to learn from their heroes - those people they admire, and to see what they did, how hard they worked, in order to become this person they admire, as well as how they used the platform they attained to help others improve their lives and the world. A beautiful, strong message for young readers to learn, and hopefully share. Many thanks for the ARC provided by Quatro Group / Frances Lincoln Children’s Books
