From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars and the forthcoming Someone Else's Shoes, discover the love story that captured over 20 million hearts in Me Before You, After You, and Still Me. They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . . Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he's pretty sure he cannot live the way he is. Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living. A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn't have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

Enjoyed the book

Me Before You is the first book in the series, but I had previously read book 2 and knew how this book would end. Even though I knew the outcome, the path to the end was still very interesting. I enjoyed this book, even though the main topic was depressing. I do have to say that I really struggled in the first part of the book where Louisa’s family was really not very nice or supportive of her. Some of the things they said to her were downright rude. However, I enjoyed the transformation of both Louisa and Will during the course of the book. I did enjoy book 2 (After You) a bit more, but book 1 gives you a lot of background that helps to better understand Louisa’s character as well as her family’s dynamics. I would recommend.

Good Title, Even Better Book!

Lou, a quirky, cheerful, and relatable character in need of a job to support her family encounters an ad posting in need of a caregiver. She decided to step out of her comfort zone and accept the job with little experience dealing with people paralyzed from the neck down. Little did she know she would end up meeting a witty, sarcastic, handsome young man who would change her life forever. I would definitely recommend this book because it is so descriptive and you can feel what the characters are going through. Reading this, I was able to feel the brightness coming off of Lou, but it also shows her other emotions, which I think is pretty cool. I found myself crying, smiling, and laughing at different times in the book as well. I really enjoyed watching the movie after reading the book! I still think the book is better, but the movie is done very well and gives you a great visual for the scenes.

A must read!

I laughed and I cried. A quirky uneventful girl cares for a previous daredevil who used to be quite the bachelor and I love how determined she is to change his mindset and outlook on life now that he’s a quadriplegic. I couldn’t put the book down and finished it in 2 days! I do wish the author did a chapter from his perspective like he did with some of the other characters, I would have loved to know his raw thoughts and perspective on certain situations. Overall an amazing read!!

Loved the beginning. Loved the middle. Hate the en

I thoroughly enjoyed about 95% of this book. It was funny, gritty, and real. The remaining 5%... I have a like/hate relationship with. It's a touchy subject, and I really wish things would have gone differently for our main characters. With that being said, the story was highly entertaining while still giving you a dose of the reality these people are trying to survive.
