fit was all wrong

I loved this dress for the photos, but the fit was just so big. I re-ordered a size down and the same thing. When the size down made it fit in the waist, but,m, the entire top section was enormous. I would have needed 3 more inches of height to fill the shoulders and I’m not super short. I’m 5’5”. The arms were also super baggy. It is a beautiful dress so I considered having it altered, but it seems like a lot of work when the gown was pricey to begin with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a 18 and I thought it might be a little snug so I returned and bought a size 20. The 20 ended up being way too big so I returned it and purchased the 18 again. I’m going to wear it to my sons wedding in October. Needs to be adjusted in the shoulder and bust area and the length. Arms are a little wide so my tailor is going to make them a little tighter. Love the gown and love the color! Can’t wait to see the final results once it’s tailored and can’t wait to wear it at the wedding!
