Controller stopped connecting to train

I’ve had this train for two years. I always store it back in the box. I put new batteries and set it up under the tree but the remote won’t connect. The train keeps beeping and the light on the controller keeps blinking. I can’t figure out how to fix this.

It's ok

We purchased our train 2 years ago and it has worked good. Now this year none of the sound features work and the train is slower than in the past.

Great little train!

This is a high quality toy! My 5-year old grandson and I assembled and had it running in under an hour and it’s been great watching it circle our Christmas tree! Glad I bought it!
