State of the art design from the 1960s
It's hard to believe that I sat on my mom's lap 50 years ago to watch the moon landing in the summer of '69. I would start kindergarten that Fall. The Apollo missions were part of our culture. Astronauts were our superheroes back then and space travel was a common theme in comic books that I would later read in the '70s. Now I write all of this to impress upon the reader my understandable interest in the Omega Speedmaster. The Speedy is just a bit out of reach on a municipal cops salary. Imagine my surprise when I heard that Bulova had a moon watch worn my Colonel Scott in 1971 and that they were reissuing that watch at an affordable price. People will say that this is a Speedy copy, but it is rather Bulovas product from a design that NASA created and requested of all bidders. The original was a mechanical, hand-wind movement. This watch is a high frequency quartz which is very, very accurate. This is a very cool watch and your chance to own a little piece of explorer legacy.

Pretty watch, but durability issue
When my wife bought this watch for our anniversary to add to my collection, I was impressed with the choice. I loved the look, history behind it, and the fact that its was quartz run to give the most accurate time available. However, after wearing for 6 months daily at my work in the emergency room, the minute handle simply fell off the pin. Luckily Macy's was still willing to accept my return. I declined a replacement, and wont with a new watch. THREE stars for what a great time piece this is, but I deducted two for the craftsmanship failure.

"Moonwatch" in my budget
I was always glued to the TV during the Apollo missions in the late 60's early 70's and when I looked at the other brand of Moonwatch it was out of my reach. I did not know Bulova had a watch that made it to the moon. The history alone was reason to pick up this watch. I found one at my local Macys store and very happy with the watch. It comes in a nice presentation box with a strap tool and nylon strap with mission info. I preferred the leather strap version as most of my collection has SS bands. The UHF quartz is very accurate and I set the watch to the atomic clock and its still its to the second after a few weeks. A great addition to any collection.

Another classic!!
This watch really surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, but I really like the style of the watch. The history alone is worth a look. The case is a bit long but it looks too good not to keep. The dial has a 3d effect and is tremendously easy to read the time at a glance. Also I don't normally like date complications, but this one blends well.

Excellent watch, just wish it were smaller
I've had the watch for 6 months, I love it. The only complaint is the case is a bit too big but I knew that purchasing the watch. Build quality is excellent for the price. I also own an Omega Speedmaster Professional and I find that I wear this Bulova more than my Speedy. I just wish it were closer in size to my Speedy. But, Bulova did a fantastic job regarding the dial detail, the presentation box and the overall look compared to the one and only Dave Scott Bulova. After some minor adjustments (as detailed in the manual), each sub-dial along with the sweep second hand hit the markers spot on, better than my Speedy does (which cost about 10x as much). Best part is in the last 6 months it maybe gained a couple of seconds (not a month, but over 6 months). If you can handle the case size this is a great watch to own.
