Beautiful Display Piece
I've had this set for quite some time and I'm still amazed every time I look at it.The building experience would seem boring, but it is very fun and calming. The map is the main attraction of my room. I stuck LED lights around the frame and it looks really cool. Well done to LEGO

Missing panels and at least a bag of white singles
Finally getting around to finishing up this map and I was pretty excited to have it done with upon getting near the end I realize I’m missing five black panels and I don’t have enough white pieces to finish the continents. I’ve never had this happen with the Lego set before Lego, I would appreciate you sending me the missing pieces. Thank you.

Great set, agonizing build
I am a pretty big fan of Lego and geography, and was very excited to get this Lego set, and the set after it is built is amazing and is also HUGE, but with the giant size, the set took me, an experienced build a total of 15 hours to put down 10,000 bricks. I would recommend splitting the build between a couple of weeks instead of two nights like I did. Overall, this is a great Lego set, with a horrible build experience

Looks amazing
Not too difficult to build, just time consuming. As the majority of pieces are small, you need good dexterity. Looks great hung on the wall.

A flexible project with so many options
I was on the fence for a long time about building the LEGO World Map. I haven't been a LEGO Art builder in the past and the thought of handling many thousands of 1x1 plates was imposing. But I've been into world geography since I was very young and have often wowed friends and family with my knowledge base. When I started to build the World Map according to the plans, I quickly decided to go in a very different direction. Being very interested in geoscience, I purchased additional red studs and plates and installed the boundaries of the tectonic plates. I'm using the colored plates that came with the World Map to create an elevation map of the continents (I'm just starting that with North America). I'm having a lot of fun and I'm learning more about the relationship between plate tectonics and how the largest mountain ranges on Earth were formed. It's also sobering to see the plate boundaries responsible for terrible natural disasters such as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, several quakes in Turkey and China, and the 2011 Japan tsunami.
