Fantastic, fun build
The Tumbler is my favorite build so far, between this and the Titanic and Millennium Falcon. The other two sets are much larger by piece count, certainly. They have strengths and weaknesses. The Tumbler is more fun. As with any build, there are tricks and treats. I'll start with the universal trick: Hand placement when attaching outside assemblies is critical. Putting pressure on one side to counter the pressure from the other while attaching a assembly can result in a piece or pieces needing reattachment. Bottom line: Place hands and create pressure carefully. The biggest treat besides the unique and non-repetitive build? The assembly instruction step outlines that showed where each piece or assembly fit. There was no guessing as to where the step parts went, or where on the Tumbler the assembly went. The red outline was incredibly helpful. The following are specific numbered step "gotchas" that slowed my build, and you can be prepared for: Step 261, page 214: Attaching the orange click assembly into the base unit is frustrating. The swiveling black connectors have to be kept still with downward force to click into place. This was a trying connection, but with patience and steady pressure completed. Steps 276-277, pages 229-230: Installing the wheels in the tires is not easily discernable from the picture no matter the highlighted Yes/No images, but all wheels have a ridge into which the tire fits around the edge. Carefully slide the tire edge into the wheel on both sides to ensure snug fit. The wheel/tire assembly pictures are, simply put, clear as mud. By my estimation the wheels full cross faces should face out, away from the Tumbler. Step 278, page 232: Installing the posts into the inner set of wheels is a detail point that should be highlighted in the directions. To ensure the post will fit into the wheel cross and the vehicle body the wheel cross MUST BE aligned with the vehicle cross, or the posts will not slide in far enough. They will slide into the wheel but not into the vehicle body. Step 281, page 238: Purely a detail issue, but very important to me: I wanted the tire treads to line up on the four rear tires after assembly for continuity and symmetry. For this to happen each tire and wheel attachment must be almost identical, meaning that the internal wheel "cross" has to be the same when they're attached to the body on the cross post. Lining up the treads this way makes the Tumbler look very cool. Step 282, page 240: Front wheel assembly and attachment follows the previous notes from the rear wheel attachments. Steps 314-316 & 341-343, pages 272 & 288: Required pieces include 2x 2-peg blocks with vertical lines, but the assembly picture shows horizontal lines on those pieces. I received 3 horizonal and 9 vertical pieces, and had to mix and match. Either the required pieces or assembly pictures should be corrected. I assumed the horizontal lined pieces should have been correct. This detail was frustrating and disappointing, but ultimately the final assembly hid most of the mismatch. If you're lucky enough to build the Tumbler I hope my notes on the loose assembly frustration, wheel and tire assembly and symmetry, and inconsistent horizontal and vertical pieces are helpful. As I said up front this was the most fun I've had in a build. Not only is the Tumbler an iconic movie vehicle it makes a truly spectacular Lego show piece.

Great for building - not so great for playing
Big fan of Batman and big fan of LEGO. The tumbler is an iconic Batmobile and this set has an incredible attention to detail. The build is extremely fun and rewarding. Once complete though, it is a different story. This is a very flimsy design in certain aspects. Much of the side compartment near the front wheels is not reinforced enough with other pieces and the risk of breaking something off on this set by simply moving it (yet alone playing with it) is extremely high. That is a bummer in my view as I feel like that could have been an easy fix. Net net - it is still a great set - but for build and display purposes only.

Great looking!
Overall a good build. Just a couple spots that be improved. One thing to improve is the stand it needs to be taller.

Had to get it...
Hey all, I had to get the set in the end even though I had the original UCS one released from Dark Knight Trilogy. I know not much changes, few extra pieces, but the build experience is like no others. My only drawback is it didn't have as many changes as I'd have liked with this new UCS one but still had to get. I'll display both UCS Tumblers together. Batman is my favorite, couldn't pass up haha. I'm still hoping for the Camouflaged (tan colored) UCS Tumbler from movie to be made, I'll keep dreaming and hoping! Cheers Lego Fans! I do recommend highly!

The Dark Knight Tumbles the building experience!
This set was a lot of fun to build! I was able to watch The Dark Knight Trilogy while building. Lots of fun building techniques are involved. This set feels large and ready to take on crime in Gotham City!
