Great mask!

I have extremely dry skin, and this has helped my skin to not flake overnight. This is my second purchase (the first one was it came out) and i feel that this time the formula is softer and more lush, which is awesome because it applies to skin beautifully. I can tell there is a difference in my skin when I apply it. Very happy with this mask, I liked it the first time but this time I love it!

Skin saver

This mask and the Ultra Facial Cream are my first expensive skincare products, and oh my god, what a difference. Both products are THE BEST for my dry (from tazarotene) and sensitive skin. Both are extremely moisturizing, both are super economical (a little goes a long way, I usually use a larger dollop of a cream), both reduce redness like nobody's business. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate the latter quality. My skin is prone to redness and burning from actives if I'm not careful enough - it gets burned even after lactic acid (or the super multi corrective cream, unfortunately). But these two "ultra" products are really amazing at calming down my poor skin and keeping it plump all day and night. The difference is that the mask is slightly better for the night. With the cream, my skin by the morning is still moisturized and plump, but there will be a dry patch on the chin with some flaking, and the cheeks are not as moisturized as my forehead (I'm a side-sleeper and can't for the love of god to teach myself to sleep on my back!). The cream is absolutely fantastic for the daytime, though. So I decided to try this night balm. Yes, it solved the issue. No flaking anymore. The balm stays on my skin all night and keeps it soft and moisturized. The texture is pretty hard. I'm not a huge fan of it and would prefer a softer texture, but if it's really needed for an effective night mask, I can cope with that :D I wash my face. While it's still wet, I apply Hada Labo hyaluronic acid (yellow bottle). Tazarotene. Then I wait for it to get absorbed. Then... I feel like it's a bit weird to apply such a "dry" balm on dry skin as if it won't be enough (Idk, maybe I'm weird or it's just a sensory thing). So I apply some light layer - Aveeno oat gel-cream currently, because I already have it and need to use it up (it's too light for me), but it could be any serum or gel or light cream. When it's absorbed, I apply a small amount of this mask, just enough to cover the skin. I apply small dots on each area, then spread everything, and the mask starts to melt and turns into a heavy cream. It's pretty easy to spread. It gives a nice, non-greasy finish, even less oily than the ultra facial cream. I do my PM routine about 3 hours before bed, so it settled into the skin quite well and I don't stick to my pillow. If feels like a thin layer of a soft heavy cream (I touched my face with a finger to see if it's not too greasy or sticky). My verdict: amazing. Not 100% sure if I will repurchase since I'm a fan of the original cream and its light texture. Maybe I will if I manage to finish this huge jar and catch a good discount. But for now, I'm going to enjoy this mask and use it every night. Recommend it to those who have dry and sensitive skin, those who use tretinoin/tazarotene, and those who find the original cream slightly ineffective for the nighttime and would like to boost the same effects. I think it'd be also great to apply this mask only on certain dry areas on top of the cream.

Unlike any other mask Ive used.

LOVE this stuff. Unlike any other mask Ive used. Goes on thick and seals in moisture. I live in the desert, have to have it. Not sure why it's not rated higher. I wouldn't mind if you added a light natural lavender smell. Does't smell like anything which is also fine.

Macy's sold stale Kiehl's product

I removed lid from new bottle of product and it smelled foul. Product was evident is was old and stale. The consistency of the overnight facial rehydrating mask evidently had been sitting on the shelf for awile and was very dry. I was lucky to return product and get my money back.
